Divinity Original Sin on Linux Mint 18.1

In my steam list, it lists D:OS as a compatible SteamOS/Linux game, but when I boot, it gives me an error along the lines of

Game Crashed

I've tried all things I could think of, plus anything reasonable I found on the interwebs. Plz help.
This is the only game I've had this for, if that helps.
