Heck, I passed basic chemistry (compulsory course, even for compsci) at university just by showing up for the study session after skipping lessons all semester, writing down the profs. calculations and substituting his numbers in the written exam.

: It affects the square it casted on, caster included, yes. But it's still useful.

: You can't change your table at will, it always for whole week. And unless you reload every screen, amount of magic points you get is random (1d4 (probably) with 1 being failure, I think; and 1 stress for each 1 magic you get up to 3/3).
New spells usually go on fives, but after 20-30, it can go on tens or more, the last spell of school you get on 100.
