Or when you accidentally meet your first drake, and the escorted person is killed.

I mean, that seems like a fair result for agreeing to escort someone to somewhere you've never been before. Also, can't you just pick the escortee up and carry them to safety while your pawns distract? I never did much of the escorts because it's boring shit but you all sound pretty incompetent.

Yeah, but they'll start struggling and get off every now and then. So it's not impossible, it's just slower.

Well I didn't mean the whole way. I just meant like, there's no reason to watch one get stomped on by a griffin.

Well, I also started to "cheat" in those missions.

However I fondly remember my first escort quest, without any port stones, to... Shadow Fort, was it? Took me several hours, multiple reloads. Heck, even met a Drake just outside the fort... of course needed to reload and try to avoid it/rush trough.

But it was worth it... and the greatsword I got as a reward served me well trough most of the base game!

You're supposed to arrive to Gran Soren and immediately take the quest to escort Renault to the Great Wall at minimum level and no equipment, at night, for maximum gamer points.

This is unironically exactly what I was doing, but some of my mods introduced crashes which drained my interest to play.

Yeah, he's either doing Dragon's Dogma, or he's doing some kind of fighting game. During DMC5 press he talked about wanting to do a new Dragon's Dogma, a new Rival Schools, (which seems unlikely to happen) another Power Stone, (which seems even less likely) and some kind of new fighting game. He talked a lot about wanting to do some kind of fighting game while talking about DMC5, (from the mid '90s to 2001 he was kind of Capcom's fighting game guy) and one of the last big DMC5 interviews I saw he was talking about wanting to reinvent the single player for fighting game. So it sounds like that could be his next thing. Although with that Dragon's Dogma anime coming I'd think Capcom would want a new one sometime soon.

The plus side is, if he's doing something like Power Stone again I can definitely see the Dragon's Dogma combat system working pretty perfectly there. The stamina system is a better system for special attacks then the Power Stones, and the grab could become a proper grapple attack. So his fighting game, if that's what he's doing next, could basically be Dragon's Dogma combat with weapons you can pick up off the ground and interactive environments like Power Stone has. The Power Stone games even had boss fights with giant enemies.

In related news, Capcom has 10 SKUs (each system of a multiplat is its own SKU) coming out before next April. Most are supposedly major titles.

Only two things they announced for that window are the SF2 mini arcade and that Mega Man X mobileshit that's already out in a limited number of regions. I don't know if those two even count for this (I recall the arcade thing is outsourced).

It's not surprising. Dragon's Dogma very much seems like it's going to be a Final Fantasy type thing where each game is it's own world. It's basically set up that way with the original with the whole multiple realities thing being built into it, and then Dragon's Dogma Online was a whole different setting.

Dragon's Dogma is being included in Capcom's "million sellers" list for the first time.

That's not true, the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of DA were already there. The remastered version is new on the list.

By the way, anyone played it on the 360 back in the day? Holy bananas the performance. Stuttering and lagging at every turn.
