I don't think console games EVER get under $20 new consistently, at least not this gen, even YEARS after they came out.

waiting until they finish NPC voice spam and fast travel before I buy this. The patch notes seem pretty weak, such as 'Removed the infinite supply of carrots for sale'. Anyone know if they fixed these two points yet?

Did Capcom ever give a reason why there's no PC port, especially after Dark Souls got ported? I can only assume it has something to do with the Pawn system.

Again: Capcom ports EVERYTHING with the engine, even complete disasters like RE6. Capcom Europe already confirmed and retracted that a port was coming. It's pretty clear they'll release it with the expansion so it can ride any hype train they make for it.

I don't think the pawn system and ur dragon is a big deal either, just put PCs on the PS3 severs. Sony doesn't mind cross platform multiplayer (where as MS hates it because it tells people there are better options for free out there) and the nature of the system ensures the PS3 players aren't destroyed by keyboard/mouse.

    They always had fixes.

Pawns never speech rate could be lowered in knowledge chairs at any inn, and you could play solo (there is even an augment that gives you a noticible power increase when doing so).

Fast travel was always there in the form of ferrystones and gate crystals. They essentially worked like Morrowind's Mark/Recall system. The fact that you don't get more than 1 gate crystal (designates a point to warp to) till the post-game (and even that one comes fairly late) is an issue, but it's easy to work around (you can eventually buy them in infinite quantities and you can easily get someone to gift you one as soon as you get your pawn) and you only need 2 or 3 of the 10 maximum to put one within spiting distance of most map locations (back enterence to the Witchwood, the greatwall encampment and the camp by the drake, plus the unmovable default one in Gran Soren)

They never ported Marvel vs Capcom 3 :rpgcodex:

It's too bad because that game would've looked great at high resolutions.

I'd like to grab this too but I stubbornly won't toss out $30+ since I may not care for it as a whole. Did play the demo but that just didn't show enough, especially of the game world.

There are a lot of PS3 games for dirt cheap now and yes, some of them are actually good. Newegg has a bunch that are even at $16 instead of the usual $20 or more you'd find on Amazon.

    $10-$25 range

Consistently being the key word. Plus the link in question supports me: Most have been stalled at $20 for years, with a handful at $15, with the masjority being very early titles or at that price from Newegg's end and not current MSRP.

I like it except for the pricing. Around 40$. I'd be happier if it were around 30$ since most of it's content is going to be from the original game and I've already payed full price for that. I'll probably wait until the price drops some or it is on sale somewhere to get it.

I'm glad this game is doing well. I have pretty high expectations for what they will be able to do with Dragon's Dogma 2.

I finished my first playthrough and will begin a blank new game in hard, playing either Solo/main pawn only. Played most of the Normal game with one Pawn and no (High) Anodyne. The game is funnier when you actually have to pay attention to what the enemy group is doing and when you actually have to be careful about your health/resources/weight. OH FUCK YES AN APPLE TREE LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE ARROWS BITCH.

Good thing about this game is how every vocation opens up a new aspect of the gameplay. Every change of vocations I made was a painful separation until I learned how to play the new class.

ALSO that Yahtzee vid is a waste of time. Typical modern reviewing method : find the most risible/proeminent feature, say something lulzy about it then sweep 95% of the game under the rug because hey, reviewing actual gameplay and balance demands actual analysis. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE STORY AND WHERE ARE MY MEMORABLE COMPANIONS LIKE MINSC & BOO ? OH EYH MY PAWN IS SAYING STUPID SHIT SO I WILL SPEND HALF OF MY VIDEO ON IT. Hurr fucking durr.

Hopefully Amazon's trade in value holds steady at ~$17 for a few months. Will be the first game I ever sell.

I want to try this game now, but Dragon's Dogma still costs $40 new. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will also cost $40 new, will include all of the content in Dragon's Dogma, and will reportedly also be available on PSN, possibly for less than $40. Owners of the original Dragon's Dogma will receive some in-game trinkets as compensation.

Guess I'll be waiting 'til April. Is there any word on when or if the myriad DLCs will be combined into a discount Game of the Year-type edition? Or will that be another 1-2 year wait?

The only pricing I have seen for the expansion is the PSN price. It is going to be 40$ on PSN and it is assumed that the price on other platforms will be the same. All the DLC released has been pretty mediocre so far as I can tell(I haven't bought any of them but have read some reviews). They are all Horse Armor type DLCs. New weapons, armor, hairstyles and random quests. The style of many quests(most of the side quests) in Dragon's Dogma are like the board quests from Dragon Age. Stuff like kill a certain number of an enemy type, collect a certain number of items, or escort a NPC to a location. All of the DLC quests are this style of quest.

Here is Capcom clarifying why they chose the stand alone game option for this expansion.

The OP of that thread is more-or-less fellating Capcom at intervals in an effort to make his complaint more palatable.

Thanks for the link. I suppose deeply discounting Dragon's Dogma at this juncture would make people who bought the original game even angrier about the price of the expansion, although at this late date, they really shouldn't be.
