Use Kingcomrades post on page 4 of this thread to gain access.

I didn't want to spoil the surprise, but it's a flash animation interview of the gnome and the tiefling about how they've changed places. It's suppose to be funny but it's implying that tieflings are super awesome with Eldritch powahs and gnomes are for silly faggots and weren't any good anyway.

Also, the tiefling has the exact same fucking "accent" as draenei. The EXACT same.

Holy crap, Adam Phillips animated that poorly written attempt at marketing, that was so far below his usual standard its not funny. Normally his is some of the best flash on the net.

Anonymous of /tg/ waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were dragonborn in 4th Edition. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Wizards of the Coast were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
Anon was a D&Dfag for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the neckbeards and he said to dad "I want to play D&D daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY FURRIES"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the Races and Classes preview of 4th Edition he knew there were dragonborn.
"This is WotC" the radio crackered. "You must fight the dragonborn!"
So Anon gotted his nerd rage and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the dragonborn
"I will yiff at him" said the female dragonborn and she flashed her visible breasts. Anon nerd raged at her and tried to blew her up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the dragonborn" he shouted
The radio said "No, Anon. You are the dragonborn"
And then Anon was a furry.

Dang it!!! Are dwarves still going to be a uBaH rogue friendly class in 4e?

    Dat sucks.

Anyhow, I predict tieflings will be popular as rogues. Also as warlords...and fighters, and paladins and rangers.

I assume it was someone here who posted the erotic furry sex staring Jasade in a /tg/ 4th edition thread?

Some info on how criticals work:

So toothpicks won't kill you on a critical? That's a good thing.

And this part is just plain stupid. A critical is a critical. I'm cool with making them more predictable to help you survive lower levels, but why doesn't an enchanted weapon in a giant's hands pose as much of a threat as it does in a PC's?

I hate criticals in 3.5. x3? x4? The hell? It's -really- fun to die on full HP as a decently built kobold fighter/wizard to a 70 HP damage critical by some stupid minotaur with, what, 30 STR. My AC was 35! I hate critical hits.

You know, in the old 2E Combat and Tactics rules, critical hits not only had to be 20s, but ALSO had to actually hit your target by a fair margin of points. The 3E rules produce the laughable result where if you can't hit by a reasonable margin anyway, you're better off just dumping your entire attack bonus into Power Attack and swinging for the 5%. Personally, I think the entire auto-success/auto-fail thing should be dumped entirely, as should the ludicrous notion that characters should kill a dragon or other huge monster by repeatedly hacking at its ankle with a sword. That's a thoroughly ludicrous way to fight and the rules should really reflect that no human is going to kill a dragon that way. The "cure" for this is to give the monster an insane number of hitpoints so that it can't be effectively killed by things that really WOULD do a lot of damage to it, like, say, fireballs, while doing ultimately nothing about the ludicrous image of someone hacking at the monster's toes until it dies.

D&D's combat has always been more about fun tactical stuff, than realistic combat mechanics.

Personally I think the notion that some fat twat in a hat can take repeat clobbering with a morningstar, without so much as getting dazed, is a few million times more unreal than the fact that an insanely lucky gnome with a stick can kill a dragon.

But then again, it's not about realism. RPGs trying to be realistic are usually not all that much fun. Not when it takes about 20 seconds for a party of wannabe heroes to get reduced to cripples & corpses.

Well, obviously so. That's why I'm not even going to start complaining about the obvious hitpoints abstraction. Still, you'd think that there'd be a FUN way to kill giant monsters that does not involve stabbing them in the toes repeatedly until they somehow die. Like, oh, say, a horse ballista.

We're still on AD&D 2ed, but I think it's mostly a balance vs. specialties problem. I'm not disagreeing with you, but, it's not such a bad idea to give heroes at least a slim chance of doing the impossible.

It begins to suck if some characters have nothing but that slim chance, because characters just shouldn't be trying to do the impossible every 2 seconds. Poking a dragon in the eye & running like hell is fun. Having to do it 50 times while the party wizard zaps & the cleric heals, is a drag for everyone but the cleric & wizard.

And sadly, apart from maybe the first 5 levels, the discrepancies between character capabilities, are pretty much always so great that for every one character facing a challenge, another faces the impossible and a third is bored stupid.

A great reason to RP encounters, but.. Tactical combat is fun too. Or ought to be.

Oh what do I care. We'll never get around to playing 4ed anyway, and we get out tactical fix from WH40K :D

I'd have to disagree. The most fun games I have played are ones where all combat is insanely dangerous, and I take realism any time in favour of abstraction end easy gameplay. I'd like that in cRPG:s too, but they always seem to involve hit points and next to invulnerable characters.
