Everyone Loves Free Stuff

    Computer Gaming World (aka Games For Windows) published their annual "101 Free Games" article in the latest issue. If you're not into subscribing to magazines or murdering trees for reading material, you can still <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3156339" target="_blank" title="101 Free Games">read the article</a> (my favorite feature in the mag) at 1Up right this very second. The <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=5&cId=3156339#strategy" target="_blank" title="strategy">strategy pickings</a> are a little slim, but they do mention a few obscure projects, like <a href="http://kralovstvi.sourceforge.net/" target="_blank" title="8 Kingdoms">8 Kingdoms</a> and <a href="http://dark-oberon.sourceforge.net/?page=about" target="_blank" title="Dark Oberon">Dark Oberon</a>. Freeware favorite <a href="http://www.wesnoth.org/" target="_blank" title="Wesnoth">Battle For Wesnoth</a> also gets a plug. Probably the grooviest thing I found in the article isn't a strategy game (or even a game) at all. It's <a href="http://www.balldroppings.com/" target="_blank" title="BallDroppings">BallDroppings</a>, a sound toy that can give you hours of fun if you're in the right <a href="http://hanamushi.under.jp/rakugaki1/b/l_059.jpg" target="_blank">state of mind</a>.
