It was supposedly 'impossible' for them to add spears into Skyrim, what makes you think they can code in such a delicate thing as co-op functionality into Fallout 4?

How sad would it be if that were actually true, impossible to do what New Vegas did a year earlier on a lesser engine? And I'm sure loads of modders did on their spare time with no budget.

Obsidian put them in New Vegas.

Did Bethtards ever praise them for it? Nope.

Edit: Whoops, another member mentioned New Vegas.

Haha, was that from their, "we're so talented look what we did in a weekend" video?
I lol'd at the fact that they admitted it was a weekend worth of work and most of it encompassed the rest of their DLC..Those static vampire lords with the unmoving wings lol.

Yeah, it was that big video compilation Todd showed before Skyrim's release where it was like "WE LET OUR DEVS GO CRAZY FOR A WEEKEND, HERE'S THE RESULT!!!" and then none of that stuff appeared in the final product.

It appeared al'right, most if not all of the content in their DLCs consisted of the shit they crapped out during that weekend; most of it not even more polished than the video.

Note all of the good ideas were already in New Vegas.

Why is this topic even active? Bethesda's Fallout (including New Vegas) and TES games will never be anything more than derpy first person action arpgs. Heavy on the 'a' but light on the -rpg mostly because of level scaling and immaterial character 'progression.'

The formula Bethesda have for their open world games still makes them playable for hundreds of hours (for me anyway), regardless of the dreadful quality of the non-hiking features.

I won't lie, my three most-played games are Skyrim, Morrowind, and New Vegas. Not my three favorites, but the Bethesda formula (when done right i.e. not Oblivious and Fallout 3) is like crack cocaine.

Disagree, I've seen you and others make similarly vague, content-less posts of that nature, the only solid thing I've got from them is that with all DLC the end game builds aren't very different. However the lead game designer went and fixed that for you in a simple, lightweight esp, much less than the kind of hoops most of us jump through to play the codex classics.

So what, pray tell, is it that makes this game overrated? If anything it's underrated in the fact that it's looked at with the same disdain as beth titles despite outshining it's predecessors in a lot of important ways.

People jizz all over MCA but I didn't find any of the quests or writing that compelling. The game boils down to a simple rep grind with one of the factions. Moreover, most of what you do has little impact on the rest of the quests/storyline -- you can kill Caesar and nothing changes. And, of course, it suffers from using all of the horrible Bethesderp assets from Fallout 3. As far as 'builds' go, any sense of balance or mutually exclusive character strengths/weaknesses vanishes around level 12-15 and you barely have to play half the content in the main game to reach that. Yes, they created a mod to increase difficulty but you have to have all of the DLC (including the shitty weapon packs wtf) in order for it to work. I didn't even visit all of the locations in vanilla so the DLC was of zero interest to me. Oh... I know... that one MCA did with 'lol penis hands' such brilliance! Bravo, bravo, author, author! He'll probably do a better job with FTL event writing but, then again, FTL is a much better game.

New Vegas was Fallout 3 with slightly less shitty writing. It's hilarious how people bash 3 (and rightly so) but praise New Vegas. Guess some of the posters are that desperate for MCA's attention.

Yeah, you personally didn't like it. Subjective preference.

Look up grinding in the dictionary.

Except that every important npc comments on it. And your relation with Caesar's legion changes, with new dialogue from within that faction relating to this. Besides, it's very well known that Obsidian had far more planned, especially concerning c&c and caesar's legion. But that doesn't mean that the rest of the game is lacking in c&c. Name me one other game that has 4 factions to side with in the main quest, one of which is the player operating independantly. (aside from a robotic lackey)

Oh right, I forgot. Taking highways and rocks from a bad rpg makes your game a bad rpg.

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

So? Are you poor? The ultimate edition goes for like 20 bucks now.

Of course, one joke defines all of his work.
I wouldn't know anything about ftl.

Yeah because he famously wants people to hate on Fallout 3, and rewards people with attention for doing so.

Really, Metro, you're usually better than this.

Don't be that guy, you sound like a butthurt fanboy. I play the game occasionally and it can be fun, but most of what he said is true.

I thought the writing was great.

Dialogue was natural, characters were three dimensional and locations and communities were interesting.

I replied only because I thought he was mostly wrong and was using faulty logic. I'm not that big of a fan of new vegas, though I do like the game.

New Vegas was worth every penny. It was flawed but very enjoyable, almost like a whole new game for the most part.

Another couple of months of testing and bug fixing and it would have blown the original away. Somebody rushed it through Q&A to get it out.

The Big M.T. was brilliant stuff for lovers of pulp science fiction from the 50's.
