FO1 and 2 were more colorful than 3.

 

If I got 5 dollars from an ATM machine every time I saw that mistake I'd be a rich man.

 

Interestingly, you don't hear "FPS shooters" much. I await anxiously for the day I see "MOBA arena".

The green filter is to blame for the faded look. With mods like Fellout it's like WHOA, did I take some Jet by mistake, what's with all the colors?

 

Should we take this attitude of adequacy to narrative? Where does this logic lead genuine talent working in the A/V side of video games?

It is ebullient but efficient to say that there is no additional scene complexity over previous titles except new lighting and haze. It is technical mediocrity that confirms my suspicions around artistic mediocrity.

 

I'd rather they don't splurge on fancy graphics and high-res textures so they can use more of the additional memory they are getting with next gen consoles for achieving a higher NPC density, fewer loading screens, and a bigger and more dynamic world. I have my fingers crossed than they've been able to get rid of the need to make indoors separate areas.

 

Trying too hard.

 

Color? What color? It's colorless even without filter. Because textures are monochromatic shit.

I just remembered NV has yellow colour correction.

So Piss filter or Dirt filter, which is better and why.

They're both inexplicable choices by the art departments, both games look infinitely better with Fellout running.

 

Achromatic and the art team should have know it wasn't going to work for NV.

 

And it will be best part of the fucking game.

 

They teach color formulas in these entertainment design schools mills. It's really hack level stuff based on easy to remember shorthand, like using color coding/color fields to bruteforce a specific atmosphere or mood into a game (see Diablo 3). If you ever see someone defending Hollywood's usage of orange and teal, they probably came from one of these mills or some other shitty art school.

 

This is the part of Fallout 3 that raises my hackles the most. The idea that the Fallout games were all about survival when both of the original games were fucking loaded with communities rising from the ashes. In the original games you have Shady Sands turning into NCR and for some reason people are still more compelled by empty subway tunnels with growling ghouls rushing at them. "The spirit of Fallout, we've missed it."

This fucking youtube celebrity phenomenon makes me so glad I am srsly old and close to death.

Well see, they don't even realize that they are wrong on an objective level. If you are comparing 2 games in a 4 game series and 2 of the other games are like game A (and those games were the first two in the set), and no others in the series are like game B, then game A can't be said to be not have 'the feeling that a game in said series should have, ' thus it is game B that does not have the right feeling.

 

A few years ago and I would have raged so hard about this announcement. Guess now I can be considered 'clean' and can just shrug.

Fallout died after the first two games anyway, so why care.
