Fallout / Fallout 2 music issue

I recently installed Fallout and Fallout 2 and began to play them, having played them on an older computer of mine. Said older computer ran Windows 98. This new computer runs XP. The games do not play the music files associated with them. I attempted to set the compatability to '95 and '98 settings, but this accomplished little. Reinstalling several times did nothing as well. I would appreciate help if it can be rendered.

The state of insanity.
What's the setup of your hardware? Specifically, what kind of sound card are you using. But, it would also help us if we knew what other things you have as well.

Unpatched Fallout is DOS, so you'd better just patch it and it will be a fully compatible win application, then I think there won't be any problems with sound.

Thanks muchly. Apologies for taking so long to respond, I've had a lot of things to do this past week. I'll patch the game straightaway.

I lost my music sound in fallout 2 after patching it. Fixed it by copying all music files from the cd in to Fallout 2/data/sound/music.
