    Few thoughts:

    - Where is the fucking music during the fights??? :argh:
    - The AI of Noctis' friends is pretty good.
    - The combat seems sooo full of button mashing.
    - Where is the fucking music during the fights??? :argh:
    - Animations are nice.
    - All enemies are fucking bullet sponges, they never die.
    - Where is the fucking music during the fights??? :argh:

Funny you ask, was speaking to a Gamestop employee who's a huge fucking weeb, told me demo performance for consoles was kinda shitty because it was actually developed using PC's. Expect one sooner, rather than later if a weeby nerd is a reliable enough source for you.

After watching that video, combat looks like a complete ripoff of Dragon's Dogma, which SHOULD be a good, if not great, thing. I think music was purposely withheld, because there was none in the build up to the fights either. Since there was no music, why the fuck does it sound like the characters are hitting metal every time they hit something? Makes sense for the mechs, but a giant twin-horned Rhino shouldn't be made of fucking steel.

About Noctis' friends...that little pussy needs to go. I can take Gladiolus' UFC fighter / Billy Ray Cyrus mullet and Ignis' platinum blonde Jeff Goldblum shit, but the 120lb Miami Beach twink needs to take a fucking hike. I think about 70% of the voice acting in that video was random squealing, whining, groaning, and bitching from him.

They are developing it on PCs, but they are doing it because it's easier to develop on PCs than on special console development kits. It would be optimized for PS4, and I wonder if they can simply port it, or they would develop PC exclusive engine.

It's a common (or, at least, not so rare) practice to develope console games (usually AAA games) on PC.
With the creation of an unique system between Xbox One and PC this will be even more common.

Square Enix has been pretty consistent in terms of porting their catalog over to PC (and a lot of their titles have sold pretty well there) so I hope this one gets released on Steam eventually too. Probably not in the nearest future though.

It's too early to talk about a PC version. They haven't even announce the improved re-release for newer consoles yet.
There is just no way square is only gonna try to sell this once.

Even with console development you still make the games on pc, the development kits just allow you to run debug unfinished builds and have a lot of debug control that is disabled in the consumer skus.

I know what you mean. I tried to play through SMT Nocturne recently because I'd heard how good it was, but I gave up after a few hours due to the annoying rate of random encounters.

Nocturne is probably the best SMT, I'm sorry that you can't appreciate it :(
Just another reason why Chrono Trigger is still the best JRPG of all time:incline:

Most overrated jRPG of all time. It was a fun romp once but I'd never go back and replay it. The gameplay isn't interesting enough to warrant a 2nd play.

My favorite jrpg's are still the tactical turn based ones, like ogre battle, front mission and final fantasy tactics.

Also I have special kind of love for vagrant story, so fucking annoyed that square never developed the ip further.

Tried PSP Tactics Ogre, but I really wasn't able to appreciate it, first of all thanks to his shitty interface:M

Try the SNES / PS1 version instead. Less content unfortunately, but compounded with less grindy bullshit, a better leveling system, no stupid fucking crafting system, alignment system still mattered, element system that also mattered, a more practical UI, and less obtrusive portraits and dialogue, and the decisions you make actually feel like they matter because of no Chariot tarot garbage.

PSP version felt incredibly easy compared to the original anyway and if you need Chariot / ability to run away you pretty much suck. I think the only challenging level is keeping Aloser (Arycelle?) alive in Zodo Marsh because her Guest AI is a monumental level of mongoloid. Wasn't even real difficulty you were just hamstrung by the game's shit programming.

Yeah, I mostly play only SRPGs these days, myself.

In fact, right now I'm on my second playthrough of Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. What an awesome game that is--total worth buying a 3DS just to play it.

I read a rumour that the game is getting delayed to November. Yikes.
