I'll wait for the official statement. Rumors are pretty 50/50 and I don't want to give in to some clickbait article on the off chance that this isn't true.

Edit: More and more this rumor seems to be fabricated. Gamestop has confirmed that it has received a shipment of ads for FF15 from Square and the date still confirms that it's coming out on the 30th of September. There was also a press release just yesterday about a collab with Florence and the Machine to make some FF15 themed music and they still went with the same release date. Shit, what's another 2 months at this point anyway?

 

Don't see many games putting so much attention into creating the flora and fauna of a game world.

 

I'm starting to think this is a fantasy Discovery Channel simulator.

 

Final Fantasy is entirely over-rated, and for every game it gets semi-right, it still manages to ruin it. Final Fantasy 2 had unique mechanics, and completely wasted it... Final Fantasy 5 had strong class dynamics, and squandered it on finding them too late for real emphasis.

And after that there just never was another even potentially good Final Fantasy game save for FF8, and even than the junction system could've been done way better.

And no, Final Fantasy Tactics is not one of the good ones.

And Final Fantasy isn't based only on gameplay mechanics.
It's also based on story, characters, atmosphere, MUSIC etc...

These things are pretty consistent in all main games with the exception of FF12, which failed to develop the characters.

Let's face it this just means the rumors of it still being an unfinished mess so close to release where true, the excuses he makes here are basically bullshit i really don't believe the reason to delay is for evading a common pratice accepted by everyone and everywhere like the day-one patches. They must have had other problems and they're hiding it.

 

Japanese Grimoire. "The game is done but we still have just a few nano issues left to correct!!" Maybe they are just delaying the release because they realized that they'd get blasted by Persona 5 which is getting released earlier in September.

It'll only be a train wreck if you are expecing good gameplay. If you want a pretty game with pretty music then you'll probably be entertained. It's not like FF was ever played for the gameplay to begin with.

 

I don't really follow what's popular in Japan, but I know Final Fantasies are practically pop culture there. Is Persona that close to the level of fandom they have for FF?
