Haven't followed it much, but game looks interesting.

The Epic store decision means nothing to me. Installing another crappy client isn't a concern, not that I have Steam installed right now anyway. It's just a way to access a game, few are those I revisit and there's nothing that Steam offers me other than playing the game. If the game's good I'll probably buy it.

I hate how they're trying to divide the PC market with their console-like exclusives, but Epic store is much shadier than your regular crappy client.

Why not? Exclusives are a cancer. The platform is the same, so why doing exclusives? It makes sense for console lesser race to use exclusives to avoid becoming beggars, but what if your client is the shittiest and gets the best games? You get double damage because good games gets maimed and good client lose money.

60 bucks?!? And to think some people were griping about the "Call of Cthulhu" RPG being too expensive!

Conveniently Call of Cthulhu is on sales this weekend.
Someone's been following the Epic store drama and plotting to provide the alternative fix for Cthulhu addicts :smug:

tbh Call of Cthulhu is just a walking simulator, while the Sinking City looks more like a proper game.

Exclusive in this case means almost nothing to me. For console, sure, I can't play the game if I don't own one. This? I need to install another free client. Big deal. I couldn't care less about Steam "community" or whatever other made up reason people have to be outraged.

It's cool that Steam is now a "good client" in the early days it was the cancer. Let's wait a few years, everyone will be in love with Epic and focus their faux outrage on the next new thing.

It makes me wonder how fat you guys must be, refusing to buy a product because it's in another store.

Man, I was just looking at this on steam a while ago and thinking "interesting, let's see if there's a codex thread".
Then I forgot about it for a few days and *bam*, Sweeney-ed.

    Oh well, whatever.

I was ready to make the jump until I saw hexer's link about how the Epic client is riddled with spyware. That seems credible to me and I don't like spyware.

Also I lost 6 pounds since I started my new job, go Zombra!

I'm not going to try and convince anyone, but that process analysis is naive to say the least, there is very little of concern there. Up to you to decide what you're comfortable with installing, but I'd suggest reading further.

I'm happy to be talked out of it, after all that was just one source I haven't even bothered to confirm. The question is how much effort it's worth to me to find out THE REAL TRUTH. As of now, people I respect have cast Epic's trustworthiness into question ... what's my motivation to challenge their judgement, other than abstract curiosity?
