Are they trying to bank on RE4's nostalgia? Sounds better than RE7 at least, it seems there will be way more types of enemies.

RE8 now confirmed 4 chan leak:
"There are many things from an abandoned Re7 concept that are used for this.
Game is third person. Was first person a year ago when it was a spin off but they changed it back to first person when it became 8.
The main character will be Ethan (there were talks about chaning it to Leon, did not happen though). Other appearing characters will be Chris Redfield and Sherry Birkin (both are playable).
Chris is bald and has a beard. He is still with Blue Umbrella and pretty shady. Chris is actually one of the villains in this and responsible for the death of Ethans child and his wife Mia.
The game takes place in a mountain region, but the later half switches to an island. There are enemies thare are based on flower mutations and many enemies will be plant like / plant based.
Chris has gone mad. He is shady for the whole game but goes mad at the end when it is revealed that his corruption is much worse. It is also revealed, that Rebecca and Claire are dead.
The main villain is a man named A. Coven, leader of the Connections. He has a wife, that is a witch like stalker enemey.
Another sub villain is a woman called Ilona Simmons. She survives and will be the main villain of Re9 or another spin off.
Chris for some reason blames Ethan for the death of Rebecca and Claire. There is a flashback where Claire will be killed brutally. That made Chris snap. He does not care for anyone anymore.
Files hint, but do not confirm that Chris himself murdered his sister after she confronted him about his relationship with Blue Umbrella and wants to shift blame on Ethan.
In the end when Ethan has defeated Coven, Chris appears and depending on your choice you can kill him or he kills you. After that it is revealed how evil and corrupt Chris is.
It is not a satisfying twist and basically comes out of nowhere. Chris is just evil in this game.
Enemiess will be: wolves, plants zombies, plant lickers, armored zombies, witch, pale heads
Hallucinations will play a role."

Shadow disappointed in relative terms but still sold like 5m units early on. Games like that are one of the few AAA monsters still out there, of course they'll make more.

No, its a question of costs as the first game was rather expensive to the point that a sequel would be too risky financially ... enters MS and the following 2 games were co-funded by MS in exchange for a limited exclusivity.

Just Cause 2 is the better of them as it is the most creative one, the rest is garbage, Just Cause 3 is a 2 hours game stretched to 20 hours, commiting suicide is more fun. Just Cause 4 is Just Cause 3 with more special effects.
I'd complete Just Cause 3 and 4 if something could be done about the driving. Vehicles skate around in a way that makes no sense and I just fucking hate it. Otherwise they'd be great podcast games
