Ha, Gamedec. Never read the novels, so I can't tell how good they are. I have the board game, though, and the writing in it is terrible. After the first playthrough we decided to skip all the flavour text. Fortunately, the game's mechanics are good, if a little unpolished & unbalanced — something the Codex would appreciate, I imagine. The theme is good, too. Hopefully, they can match the quality of the mechanics and setting, and improve the writing.
