Multiplayer netcode should be their priority right now. It pretty much sucks to get a game going without losing somebody.

Damn, I really thought they would just up the texture resolution and throw in a shader or two, didn't expect the remastered version to look this good

7pm EST on a Thursday. Zero games hosted in the lobby worldwide. This game is a smashing success!

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Months later, I still have yet to receive my Gearbox 2013 Community Day code for a free copy of HW1.

Well, no great loss.

You have a masterpiece of a game with a simple, yet elegant source code and a turd of a sequel with a messed up nonsense of an engine "update", which has given modders nightmares for DECADES. What do you do, being given the chance of creating a remake?

1) Upscale both games graphically, changing nothing else. >>Cleric path
2) Port the sequel into the first game's engine despite the extra work-load and expense, to gift fans with the sequel they have been robbed of by poor management. >>Paladin path
3) Remake both games in a new modern engine, and to hell with the budget! The profits will compensate! >>Warlock path
4) Port the first game into the sequel's horrid engine everyone hates because fuck you, that's why, we're Gearbox. >>Rapist path

Everyone plays according to their tastes.
Praising the remake is like praising a rape porn video. It might even feel good to look at it at first, but then you remember you are in love with the "actress", and the rape is real.

So HW 1 remastered is HW 2 , right? That's gud, as i found HW 2 more arcade gameplay more enjoyable than HW 1 and campaign of HW 1 in hw 2 sounds like the best thing.

Wow. It's cool they have got ballistics working. After they said several times in the past that they would *not* be doing this.

Some people are trying to come up with a way to make an RPG using HWRM. The scripting engine is capable. There are I/O and save game issues however.

????????

They got ballistics into HW1 ?

edit:

Ballistics
Projectile weapons now have true ballistic behavior! Rather than an RNG’d percent chance to hit being generated at the time of fire and missed rounds blinking out of existence as soon as they reach their target, we’ll get to watch true ballistic behavior from most ships with projectile weaponry. Missed rounds will continue past targets (and can potentially strike other enemy or friendly ships when they do), and rounds will have a chance to misfire, causing the slug to veer wildly off course or not to fire at all. I can’t say that lack of true ballistics was something that I noticed previously, but after seeing it in action, I definitely notice it now! This change will also alter how ships take damage, because ship motion and attack vectors now play a very real role in how difficult they are to hit with a ballistic projectile.

Holy fuck they did it.
