    Gothic namedrop!

Good to hear they earned enough, I mean, dude has my pre-order money after his first performance.

Sad to hear about Switch, I think it could work great on it and that it would actually get quite a bit of sales.

    I knew it!

Now for that full-on action RPG sequel please. And there has got to be a sequel with that cliffhanger ending.

Thanks, it was actually a different one next to the ramparts on the door located on the roof. No idea how I overlooked it.

I actually finished the game, with every quest and every clothing set fully complete.

    8/10

It is a great stealth adventure with some light RPG elements, I loved the atmosphere, exploration and good writing, disliked some of the uberfetchquests...by the end when I was searching for those urns, I was getting annoyed and bored. But great game overall.

Anyway finished it myself (after a long long break) and the exploration actually gave me joy like few other games have.
Just recently read another interview from Seith and this inspiration explains a lot the feeling I had when exploring:

back to reinstalling arx I guess

Also Darth Roxor I found the soundtrack if you're still interested:

Really surprised to see such praises for this game. Sure, it's charming and downplayed story and not taking itself too serious is also beneficial. But all the fucking backtracking for n times and mega shitty quests like "collect 20 of these and then 10 of those and then go to the other fucking side of the map for one quick conversation to be able to get back here and activate the trigger to progress and then do that all over again" completely killed this game for me. That's shit design. I know the guy didn't have the funds, but make it 50% shorter and get rid of all that shit content. The game was way too long for what it is anyway. This game eventually revealed itself as being the most dull experience I've ever had. It's just mind-numbing. Even though i wanted to like it and do like some aspects of it, I had to quit at some point if I didn't want a permanent intelligence stat drop.

With all the shortcuts you unlock as you go, the backtracking almost becomes a non-issue. And apart from sth like the shrooms, most of the 'gather x' quests are put into new areas that you explore for the first time, which also smoothens a lot of their relatively uninspired goals. I also sure as hell don't remember anything like "collect 20 of these and then 10 of those and then go to the other fucking side of the map for one quick conversation to be able to get back here and activate the trigger to progress and then do that all over again".

    ergo up yours

The whole fucking game is "go there and take this, then return and give it to me, then go there and find that and bring it to x" and it's set up so that you cris-cross the map for a million times. And most of the time, it's set up so that you have to go to the most awkward part of the map from the place where you have the trigger for that further progression point. Most of the time I felt like the designer is really just fucking with me and trolling me. The shortcuts don't make it much less painful. I'm not saying this stuff to be contrarian, the game genuinely felt like slooooooooooow strangulation for me.

i dunno which mod was brilliant enough to put the post here from another thread, but it certainly must have required some brilliance

I don't know what took me so long to try this, but I'm playing it now, and I'm really surprised at how it good it is.

Some of the exterior areas remind me of Gothic 2 on a smaller scale. The animations are the best I've ever seen in an indie, and the atmosphere is superb.

finally playing and aside from bugs (i feel off the floor several times near the guard's barracks )it's really good.

level design is amazing, tons of secrets, it has verticality and interconnectedness, NPC schedule!, awesome art and animation, great atmosphere. the background lore is also suprisingly fleshed out. you don't see what happened, but they do paint quite a clear picture of the history trough the journals/dialogue and the songs you can perform.

finally finished it. damn fine game, with some glaring flaws. it have surprisingly deep lore, the characters are all fun and lovable, the story is surprisingly intriguing.

REALLY want a sequel with Tilo's adventure in Periclave with all the unanswered questions' conclusions. what is the emerald flame? why did the mouse faction betrayed the alliance? (i am assuming the story about poisoned cup isn't the whole truth and the reason for mouse's persecution is something either fabricated or the truth, but like maybe they are controlled by magic somehow), why didn't merra danced with at the baron's place, how does simple rebel know about the green flame in Periclave!?
