    I don't want to start a new thread, but by chance does anyone have the GOG Ultima VII version and have it currently installed? I was curious about the DOSBox config for that game specifically.

    I was just curious what CPU settings they used in the DOSBox config file.

    Here you go:
    [cpu]
    # core: CPU Core used in emulation. auto will switch to dynamic if available and appropriate.
    # Possible values: auto, dynamic, normal, simple.
    # cputype: CPU Type used in emulation. auto is the fastest choice.
    # Possible values: auto, 386, 386_slow, 486_slow, pentium_slow, 386_prefetch.
    # cycles: Amount of instructions DOSBox tries to emulate each millisecond. Setting this value too high results in sound dropouts and lags. Cycles can be set in 3 ways:
    # 'auto' tries to guess what a game needs.
    # It usually works, but can fail for certain games.
    # 'fixed #number' will set a fixed amount of cycles. This is what you usually need if 'auto' fails.
    # (Example: fixed 4000)
    # 'max' will allocate as much cycles as your computer is able to handle
    #
    # Possible values: auto, fixed, max.
    # cycleup: Amount of cycles to increase/decrease with keycombo.
    # cycledown: Setting it lower than 100 will be a percentage.

    core=auto
    cputype=auto
    cycles=fixed 14000
    cycleup=500
    cycledown=500

    LBA vs Another World :bro:

    Everybody who wants neither or both, please vote for Another World! It costs more than LBA (10 bucks vs 6 bucks)

    Already have AW and don't care about LBA, but since you asked so nicely I'll vote as you requested.

    Ooooooooooooh just noticed I can get 2W1 for $4! Gonna go do that ASAP. Now I need to convince commie to do that coop game that we said we would do almost 2 years ago...

    Ah good, never played Sanitarium and was on top of my next-to-buy-on-GOG list. It's also winning the votes so far.

    I can tell you right now that you won't be disappointed with Sanitarium. I remember picking it up in some bargain bin back in the day and it was the best 10 bucks I ever spent for it at the time...

    I realise nobody here actually wants this game and we probably all already own it in some capacity, but whatever.

    What I don't get are all the apologists for the game. Invisible War is fucking terrible, yet there are lots of 4-star scores there and people insisting it's "not as bad as you heard". YES IT FUCKING IS. I understand fanboyism and the GOG.com community's tendency to drum up every vaguely non-mainstream or older title simply out of nostalgia, but this is pushing it. Are there really so many fans of Invisible War out there, or is this some sort of weird communist agenda?

    Doesn't the stars comment on GOG get ordered from the higher to lower? I never seen a 3 star, but honestly I didn't watch too much.

    I enjoyed it. My expectations were very low, but I guess I was craving for FPSes at the time.
    What is it that makes it "fucking terrible"? The Bloom, the dumbing down for consoletards, and the fact that it is not Deus Ex is only enough to make it mediocre (but still good enough to enjoy), not "fucking terrible", IMO.

    "Scratches"? Highly recommend. Great example of "simple" (i.e without fountain of technical gimmicks) game oozing with tense atmosphere and great gameplay.
    Also whipping buttocks rigorously, if you will.

    Like I said in the Rageaholic thread - some people are just "RPG-shooter" fetishists. If it belongs to the genre, they like it.
