Is Trine as shit as it sounds, rhyming with latrine?

I enjoyed it. It's easy even on the hardest difficulty, but the feel of the game is good. Controls are good. I liked controls better on a 360 pad though. Overall design is worth it IMO. It's a lovely game. The final level is quite hard on the hardest difficulty, and a bit of old-school, so that was nice. I dislike the popamole checkpoint system, which makes the game not even remotely punishing enough. Where's my three lives, when all are gone game fucking over system? Trine 2 is significantly harder and more dense with puzzles.

Leave it to GOG to offer deals worse than indie bundles and over hype it.

How exactly is this a bad deal? Gemini rue, Resonance, Machinarium etc. are really nice games worth playing, that normally don't sell for cheaper than $10. What's the problem here? That you can't get these games bundled for $1? Indie bundles are generally one or two games worth getting + a ton of shit.

And the fact that you can pay as little as $1 for them offsets getting the 'ton of shit.' Note I didn't say it was a 'bad deal' I said it was worse than the deals you can get in indie bundle (mostly the older ones before they ran out of decent games). CD Projekt uses GOG as the Ralph Lauren of digital download. You pay a higher price for the privilege of buying from GOG. Hell, you even got DRM free versions from most of the indie bundles, too.

    Hey evdk,

I can give you some recommendations if you like as I have played a few of those games myself :D. Let me know.

It's not fucking popcorn, it's games. Good ones. The ones I'd intend to play even. I don't acquire for the sake of acquiring. I don't see how paying the fifth of a price of these games, in a deal where you can have several combinations where none would be a mere "filler" is a bad/shitty thing. Also, this argument is fucking retarded. I'm getting out of here.

Well, I'm not going to beg, but if you have any recommendations, please share them.

EDIT: And I could get Resonance for a measly one dollah? I am genuinely interested where.

My intention wasn't to make you beg or anything, I just wanted to make sure that my opinion was wanted since, you know, I work for GOG and all :D.

    I can definitely recommend:

    Uplink
    Resonance
    Geneforge 1-5
    Torchlight
and Gemini Rue OR either of these 2 games: Darwinia or DEFCON.

Uplink is by far the most FUN hacking simulator. Sure, it might be a bit long in the tooth but that means you get a Good Old Game and an indie, if you're into that kind of thing :P, in one.

Resonance is another personal favorite of mine due to the story that doesn't insult one's intelligence, the puzzles being, for the most part logical and how they are executed (I love the fact that I can use one person to do one thing while the other folks are doing another task :D), and the easy to use interface.

Geneforge 1-5 because you already stated before that you wanted it and, thus, you know exactly what it is so you don't need any explanation here :D

Torchlight is, in my personal opinion, a fun hack 'n' slash game if you like loot whoring like I do :D.

Gemini Rue is the one for you if you have been craving something along the lines of Beneath a Steel Sky and you know that the money is going to devs that are true BROS. Also, I really like the cyber-noir atmosphere of the game as you rarely see that. Now, some folks might complain about the slightly pixellated graphics but I think they add a bit to the overall atmosphere.

Darwinia is a game where you play inside a computer. Sort of like a TRON-ish (in terms of being inside a computer) RTS but without all the 80s neon.

DEFCON because, damn dude, you can throw nukes around like they are rice at a wedding. Definitely a good game to play after watching either "War Games" or "Dr. Strangelove" :D.

Imperialism 2 is my most awaited game on GOG.

Is the first still worth it?

I use gog to vote with my dollar and show devs there is a market for games like they used to make.

Given the kickstarter fad, someone must have been paying attention.
