:what: He's very good, thanks for sharing.

edit:
more than an overview of Doom games and their ports for various platforms, as well as some related games and few well known early wads, but I guess that will be interesting for Doom novices. He also ends up praising Brutal Doom and expressing excitement for Doom 4...
:negative:

He made excellent video on Amiga's first person shooters.

It's not like you weren't warned. That video is what it is, it was obviously aimed at those that are only casually interested in Doom or want to hear something about its history now that new AAA entry is coming out.

Gloom looks fucking amazing. The rest I really couldn't care that much, mostly because things like the post stamp game view the guy mentions or the awful "small jump" animation that's supposed to emulate human stemps.
Still, immediatly subscribed.

Alien Breed 3D is probably best one even with the huge pixels (fullscreen) or decent sized pixesls in post-stamp screen, Genetic Species is pretty good too, with the "Paradroid"-style overtaking the different kind of enemies.

Related to that Amiga FPS video: some folks actually made (supposedly perfectly faithful) PC port of Citadel:

Wish same was done with Gloom. I remember seeing some vids and screens of a WIP port couple of years ago, but it doesn't look like it ever went anywhere.

Gloom Deluxe is what you want, it's better version of Gloom.

Probably doesn't contain any info that the average member of this forum doesn't already know, but here's my video on DnD games through out the ages. Or I should say up to the early 2000s, since I had to leave out some of the later games for technical/budget/time reasons.
The main focus is on Goldbox&Infinity Engine games and Temple of Elemental Evil+early history, most games are covered very briefly.

A friend of mine started doing videos for a gaming channel. The channel itself started out with content in romanian, but they have switched to english in the past few weeks and will continue to produce videos in english (better add revenue, duh). The guy knows his stuff about games and isn't the type to bow down to the god of all things popamole. You might find the content to the Codex's tastes.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Looks interesting.

Edit:

One thing I find odd about your friends channel is the view-count. He seems to hover around 300 views per video, but 161489 subscribers? Don't really add up.

My friend didn't start this channel. He is now collaborating with the guy who originally started it. That guy most probably used some bots that inflate the number of subscribers. Some youtubers do that thinking they can trick viewers into watching their vids.

I think it would've been a better idea if they just started a new channel considering disparity between subs and views per-video doesn't exactly encourage a new viewer on current channel, no matter how the original guy got those subs. Shame because I really like everything I've seen so far and they apparently have a regular schedule.

Yeah, that's true. But then again it's not easy losing your fanbase and starting from scratch again.
