If old games with fan-made patches are your thing, you might want to give your feedback for Gothic 1's:

In spite of an 8 year old engine, Gothic 1 is a great, timeless RPG. However, as it's successors did, Gothic 1 is not without it's fair share of bugs, ranging from minor inconveniences to some serious gameplay issues. We aim to not only address these modicum of errors, but to build up on and improve the quality of the Game in our unofficial patch for Gothic 1.

Due to time constraints and our shifting of team focus to our new project, we have decided to release this patch as a release candidate that is open to the public for beta testing. As such, some fixes may not work correctly, there are errors we still have not addressed, and some we may have missed.

Therefore, we would like you to assist us in helping to spot such errors. This will help us to ensure that the patch does what it's supposed to do, and should help us enhance the quality of our patches, both present and future, as a whole.

Without any further ado, enjoy our Gothic 1 patch.

Gothic 1 was a terrible game. Have no idea why anyone would want to spend their time on it. I quit after the part where I couldn't find some item in a cave for an orc by the end of the game. I read in the walkthrough further and discovered that after you do find it, you have go on a hunt for random items, like flowers or whatever.

You mean the Ulu Mulu quest for Urshak? You had to get a shadow beast horn, troll horn, fire lizard tongue and swamp shark scale.

    Also IB4 Brennus. :D

Anyway, a patch after 8 years and 2 sequels seems quite pointless. And it's not as if the game was unplayable...

TERRIBLE GAME BECAUSE I COULD NOT SOLVE IT W/O WALKTHROUGH
Your shameless display of utter ineptitude is growing more pathetic every day.

Well, funny thing is that this is close to the end of the game. You probably enjoyed 3/4 of the game and only noticed that it was terrible when you were almost finishing.

Gothic one had the best World size of 3d RPGs. It was about the size of ultima 9, smaller than morrowind and oblivion, but while ultima 9, morrowind and oblivion worlds would represent entire continents, countries and provinces, Gothic was set inside a prison dome over a Valley, which worked as an invisible barrier, but tied to the plot, leaving you wondering about how big was the world outside.

No, but seriously, the ending of the Gothic I was pretty lame. It's actually a good thing to stop playing before you reach the final parts of the game as it would only spoil your 'experience' (gotta love that word over here:P).

Patching is welcome, though, this game still had many flaws when I last played it 3 years ago. And the fact that there were sequels is irrelevant as the first one basically kills them with atmosphere.
