As says the title, is it any good? I'm looking more at the "build stuff" side for the moment, some sort of a slow-paced strategy to play with not-so-well-versed friends. It looks pretty, but how does it play, and what's the multiplayer like?

Ever play Celtic Kings, Nemesis of the Roman Emperor or Imperium Romanum? Confusingly, they're all in the same series.

Don't know about multiplayer, but I like the single player of Grand Ages Rome. It may be by the same guys that made Imperium Romanum (which is also good), but has a totally different focus on how you build things. It is a slow, relaxing game, more so than Imperium Romanum.

I've bought it and been trying out multiplayer - it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Single player is pretty nice, too, although the Family based traits are simply overpowered. +200 coins for each research completed? +5 popularity for the same feat? Whoa.

    ...Not that I complain!
