It was mostly a bad Monty Python spoof, but a simple majority is also an actual concept and in this case would be 6/10. If there were 101 slots, a simply majority would be 51/101.

That said, perhaps introducing a distinction between "simple majority" as "more than half" and "great majority" as "about 4/5, give or take" would speed things along slightly.
