    Another news bit from <a href=http://www.rpgdot.com>RPGDot</a> (sigh.) reports that the German print magazine <a href=http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc-spiele/rollenspiele/23020/>GameStar</a> has received the following development update from <a href=http://www.udc-game.com/>UDC Game</a>' developer Vladyslav Artyukhov on the development of their upcoming RPG Heart of Eternity who doesn't sound too optimistic. The statement has been translated from English into German and back into English.

    <li>Main storyline: Has been changed several times, but it is final now
    <br>
    <li>Dialogues: Are being polished
    <br>
    <li>World-Geometry: Almost done, we are now working on the textures
    <br>
    <li>Music: In development. There will be unique tracks for each race and country
    <br>
    <li>Charakteranimation: Are being worked over once more
    <br>
    <li>Combat System: The close combat weapons are quite done, UDC is working on the ranged combat and magic system now </ul></blockquote>

    Let's hope they get a publisher.

    this is the game that has been frequently compared to Gothic, right?

    if i'm not wrong it's 3rd person behind the back view with some nice scenaries. the vid they released way back last year looked promising.

    So what's the game about? Or have no details been released yet?

    H-bomb, one of game devs (low-poly modeler), frequent AG.ru forums, so lemme quote some of his sayings:
    The game will be about 40%RPG/60%Action (btw, he, himself, would have liked it to be much more action then RPG, but since he's just a modeler, no need to despair :)).
    It would feature NPC schedules, realistic day/night cycles, etc.
    Combat system will be much more detailed then in Gothic - it would be more akin to Blade of Darkness - since, like most agree, it's the best PTS-slasher on PC.
    There would be a good magic system too, but I cannot say a lot about it.
    And, btw, it will feature 'free-form' dismemberment, not just in fixed places, but anywhere you've managed to strike a crippling blow. (I've not seen it myself, but my bloodthirsty soul writhes in anticipation already :twisted:.)
    Pixel shaders would be used.
    Anyway, it seems to be a very promising project, if I'm not sure it'll live up to Gothic standarts. It may surpass it just as well - who knows.

    Sounds interesting, so I hope further details will be released and they'll find a publisher. Thanks for the information, Balor. :)
