I've never crafted anything other than legendaries because you'll eventually pull most key epics and rares. That said if you want to play something immediately, Handlock isn't your best option. You need two mountain giants, two molten giants, and two twilight drakes. That's going to require 1,400 dust alone assuming you don't have any. There's a couple of midrange or demon lock decks that might cost you less depending on whether or not you have Naxx.

Right now I'm sitting on about 4,000 dust to see what happens after the new adventure. There aren't really any GvG legendaries I'm desperate for (Vol'jin is okay but not vital. Same with Neptulon. The neutrals other than Boom and Sneed's are useless).

Yeah, I have an alterate-shaman deck with Neptulon that I keep fucking around with after I get bored in a season. It's not a bad card, and it can make for some hilariously cheesey plays, but it's a little too reliant on RNG to make for a great card.

Worgen.. infiltrator? No, that's not a warrior card men, except in perhaps some fringe aggro deck.

Handlock is a useless deck in a current meta, don't waste your dust on it. Maybe it will change with BRM but I guess it rocked too long already.

If you want to play a warlock you can try a Demonlock, which doesn't require several epics, although crucial "commons" and "fares" are Naxx bucks anyway, plus you need to have Malganis.

If you love shaman go for it. I for instance play only a Warlock and disenchant everything else, works for me.

Neptulon looks like a fun card.

Raging Worgen. Watched a Chinese guy get to legendary by utilizing a buffed-up Raging Worgen. I'd imagine the same principles could apply to this card albeit on a lesser scale. The Warrior has a lot of spell cards that effect its own minions.

Certainly not a traditional or popular deck by any means (not that that's a bad thing, random fringe decks reach legend all the time)

The worgen is likely what makes the deck work due to windfury. If you cast Inner Rage on a Worgen it's swinging for 12 damage that turn. Meanwhile the sorcerer is only dealing 6.

I also just realized that whirlwind, taskmaster and death's bite are probably what's really making the worgen consistent. None of those help the sorcerer (other than taskmaster, and that helps less)

Nah, I'm not saying a superbuffed replacement for the Worgen, only that it'd operate in a similar manner that the Worgen and other Warrior minions do, which is getting buffed by Warrior spells. I'm not sure if Whirlwind would apply or not -- it just says whenever it is 'targeted' with a Spell. Technically the Whirlwind targets everything. What makes the Worgen pretty beastly is stuff like the Charge spell, which at 7mana would give you/the Dragon a 6/6 minion with charge, or a 9/6 if you drop Inner Rage on it., 12/6 if you drop two. IMO it's a pretty solid card. You're basically getting a free +1/1 to any applied buffs. Not bad for anyone carrying buff spells in the deck. Stuff like the Warlock's power overwhelming, for example, is suddenly a +5/5 instead of just 4/4. That can add up to be a lot pretty fast if you're tossing everything on the card, or even just minor bullshit things like all the spare parts crap.

Edit: and the egg could have a lot of synergy with guys like the Taskmaster. Egg + Taskermaster = 2/1, 2/1, 2/2, with a sort of Harvest Golem proc tied up in one of the 2/1's for another 2/1 all for 4 mana. That's not too shabby. Both of these cards would also benefit greatly from a fixed Warsong.

Everything that has you point an arrow at a card targets it. Whirlwind actually targets nothing, it's a general effect.

The bonus of the Dragonkin Sorcerer is way too low to make it a combo piece, it's only application is being a value minion with buff cards like PW:S and Velen's Chosen. To compare it with Raging Worgen is just nonsensical, Worgen combo works because the Worgen has a high base damage (8 when enraged) and every damage buff you put on it has its effect DOUBLED (instead of meager +1). There is basically no reason to run the dragon in a combo Warrior because it can't oneshot your opponent (when you have a combo with it that actually kills your opponent, Worgen would do much better 99% of the time).
The "advantage" it has over Worgen is its staying power, if you can't kill your opponent with it, it is more likely to survive. But stacking a bunch of low value buffs like Inner Rage on a card and expecting it to survive your opponents turn is a sure way to lose the game.

The game plan of Combo Warrior is to cycle through the deck and assemble an OTK with individually low value cards, Dragonkin Sorcerer is a board control minion that does not fit the gameplan of that deck at all. No potential for goodness in Warrior.

I think the Dragon Egg is not good in Warrior (or anything) either, the Taskmaster combo is basically the ultimate value you will get and everything else is way below that. And it isn't even that good to begin with. Your whirlwind effects also clear all the Whelps you managed to generate before they go off which leads to awkward situations. It's a slow card that does absolutely nothing without combos and not enough when enabled.
The Nerubian Egg spawn is just way more powerful, is easier to combo for value (you don't need multiple activations to get your money's worth) and works better as a boardclear deterrent.

I don't see a bright future for either of these cards.

sser I can assure you that whirlwind doesn't affect the Sorcerer. And yes, I know that's the stuff that makes Worgen decent for burst combos. But what I'm saying is that it's the windfury part of the Worgen's enrage that is making him good. Windfury effectively doubles the attack of the creature if there are no taunts. Putting inner rage on sorcerer is barely worth the card honestly.

That sorcerer is best in Priest. Velens Chosen and particularly Power Word:Shield are the things it wants to have cast on it. Problem is, the 4 drop slot is already jam packed with godlike cards, and Sorcerer is independently weak. Getting a bonus 1/1 from power overwhelming doesn't justify running that card when you could play a Yeti/Shredder for the same amount of burst damage.

I also already noted the egg + taskmaster synergy earlier. The problem is it's too slow for the kind of deck that cares about getting some 2/1s. By the time you get the 2/1s the egg makes to attack, you could have dealt 4 damage with worgen infiltrator/leper gnome or whatever.

btw. if some of you NA guys are up for some games, I recently started playing on NA again. My decks are still pretty much patchwork, but I think I can at least give you a run for your money.

Jesus Christ, guys. Stahhhp. The point of the Raging Worgen was to give an example of how the Warrior uses a lot of minion-specific buffs. Stop devoting time and words to that shit. It's pretty obvious there aren't going to be any 30-dmg wombocombos with the dragon.

I think both these cards have a lot of potential. I would not compare them to other cards as if the play/usage is going to be the same. For example, why compare the dragon egg to the Nerubian? They both produce something, obviously, but how you use them is going to be completely different. What might work for one isn't going to work for the other. I feel like these sort of straight comparisons is why so man people were egg-on-face wrong about the GvG cards before they got to use them. I mean, I get criticizing a card, but to say it's going to be outright shit before you even have a chance to see it in use is kinda shortsighted, IMO.

I was correct on all of my predictions, although I thought spectral knight would be played more. (And let's be honest, Spectral is pretty great, but the 5 slot is completely slam-jammed pack full of godlike cards)

Then again, Naxxramus happened before I started consistently curbstomping people in this thread for having incorrect subjective opinions about a children's card game designed for tablets, so I have no written proof of this.

Has anyone dicked around with a spare parts deck? Seems like rogue would be the way to go because all the spare parts would be great for combos. Great for getting out a fat Edwin Von Queef and maybe even makes Headcrack not so shitty (prob not). Gadgetzan Auctioneer would be in there of course, in fact IIRC there was a dev interview shortly after GvG came out where they explained their reasoning for increasing the Auctioneer's cost to 6 was because they were afraid that it would become too powerful with spare parts.

There were a few Gazlowe spare parts decks in early January. As always, it can win, I'm sure an autist can brute force it to legend, but the consistency wasn't there for it to stick.

Pre orders for what? A unique card back that only tells people "I am a sucker who pays 2 win"? The only notable backs imo are Legend, Heroic Naxx and maybe oldfag Pandaria.

Mages will rejoice Mana Wyrm got a new best friend. :)
Hunters got a good card, no surprise
    Warlocks got shafted

Still those low level mage slots are super crowded now. And I just realized mech mage w. spare parts got even more uber now. 2 of Flame Walker + 2 Bot + 2 Mana Wyrn + 2 Mech Yetis or Soot Spewers + 2 Blast Mages finishing it off with Antonidas and any leftover parts. Frost bolt/Icelance/Fireball/Polymorph to take out enemy minions. Calling the new meta now folks, get ready. :salute:

Pay to win? I'd rather pay the $25 than farm out the 3500 gold.

re: new cards. Mage one is a good anti-aggro. Hunter one will result in more retarded rush decks.

The 3 cards in Kattze 's post are all good.

Mage Card = obviously high synergy with spareparts. don't think this card is really good enough to build a whole deck around it, but it might get included as a value piece.
Hunter Card = obviously good if you empty your hand. could probably be the new top-end for face hunter
Warlock Card = better than you might think. in that weird warlock deck that buffs mistresses of pain, this guy is good. he's also pretty fantastic in arena.

It's not pay to win, because if we take Naxx as an example there was no card in Naxx that the Classic set could not over come. And that was before GvG was launched. Yeah Belcher and Loatheb were brutal and still are, but there are plenty of ways to get rid of them. I welcome new cards because it means more deck variety and less boredom, and more creativity.

If you are spending money then yeah an adventure is good value because you know the cards you get. This is also why most are typically slightly less powerful/useful or more niche than deck cards.

I will hold out buying until all cards are released and I know exactly what I would get

Imp Master is similar, with one less attack but auto imp generation. It costs 1 more mana though. But anything you could do with this you could do with her, and she has better survivability.

I guess both could be played along with Implosion and Flame Imp for a fun kinda deck. Sort of a counter to Shaman Murlocs.

Just hope druids don't get shafted yet again and finally get something.
