Expert AI can be a bit rough with just basic cards although they haven't updated it over the years and I think it's sort of broken. It tends to make a lot of misplays, especially the Druid one. Still, a good way to unlock all of the basic set (1-10 with all classes). Whatever you do don't buy Goblin vs. Gnome cards with your gold. Stick to Classic packs (they're the brown ones in the shop).

Best basic neutral cards: Elven Archer, Swamp Ooze, Shattered Sun Cleric, Yeti, Gnomish Inventor, Senjin Shieldmaster, Gurubashi Berserker, Boulderfist Ogre, and Stormwind Champion.

Just had to do it. Sadly, I don't know any of that forum fromatting magic, so it's way less impressive than it could have been, but eh.

And yeah, warrior needs to grow on you. He's just way... counter-intuitive? I don't know, I just didn't expect a class with Garrosh as an avatar to be the slow, tactical thinking type. It would prolly be best to stick with your favorite WoW class. Flavor should keep you playing, while mechanics slowly grow on you.

 

Well, what I saw from the Expert AI battle was that (at the time I didn't even have Arc. Reaper): 1) I needed more weapons and 2) I needed more of the support cards like the little guys that Battlecry a weak weapon.

Well, just keep playing. By the time you unlock all the basic cards, things should become perfectly clear. Now, i recommend spending your gold on classic packs - not only are these the best packs atm, they are the only ones that will last for evah and evah.

Arena still has the chance to award GvG packs as far as I'm aware. Plus a new player isn't going to be getting many wins in Arena unless they're a savant at Hearthstone. So, yes, someone with zero cards beyond the basic set is much better off buying Classic packs.

New card = odd choice. Does the same as Auchenai for only one turn for less mana? I guess good if Priests really need a quick clear or want to nuke with Corrupted Heal Bot?

Also I hate it because if it becomes a thing it'll force me to get the rest of BRM and probably craft Chillmaw.

I'm watching a stream of some EU player with a Warrior deck, and I have to say that Grim Patron is hilarious.

The addition of very powerful cards with very powerful deathrattle effects pushes the divide between classes. Priest, Shaman and Mage can all hard counter this with a single card. Mage can even double up with Mirror Image + Poly combo for maximum bullshit.

I'm all for class identity and differences, but the bizarre distribution of super removal and secrets is aggravating.

 

Has anyone made a Battlecry/Deathrattle Vanish deck? Are the cards there to support that kind of thing?

Yeah, there are all sorts of fun decks, but most of 'em arent optimal. Can't remember when was the last time I've seen Baron Rivandare. Brann is quite used, but decks arent really made for him - his effect is just that good that he can work in most decks.

 

Brann also benefits from his availability. He'd be a hard sell if you had to craft him.
