Early-mid 90s. Isometric RPG adventure type. Isometrc views with decent VGA graphics. You complete quests for leaders of various areas if memory serves. Player collects little blue wizard hats with yellow stars on them to refill magic.

Come to think of it, you needed to collect enough hats to level magic.

There is an isometric game where you play as a wizard and must collect blue wizard hats, among other things.

Problem is, Solstice is a NES game.

Hmm I vaguely remember something from "Mystic Towers" where you had to complete 4 towers before you could qualify as a Wizard. And you picked up a lot of stuff as you went along, but no wizard hats.

They were shaped like dunce caps, but blue with yellow stars in them.

Ah well it wasn't that great obviously but the caps stuck with me for whatever reason and I remembered having some fun with it.
