Quest for Glory with a female character and a story/setting based on Norse mythology?

OH GODS ITS HEAVAN

But yeah the voice acting is kinda bad but who the fuck cares about that. Those graphics are incredibly beautiful.

UPDATE

Crystal Shard is proud to announce the release of Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok, available for FREE download!

Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure / RPG hybrid. Like in many adventure games, you have a world to save, and must use your wit, guile and inventory to puzzle your way through. Like in many roleplaying games, you can customize your character with various classes and skills, and must train yourself in combat to stand a chance against the fierce monsters in your way.

The game is designed in the spirit and atmosphere of the classics, and strives to have the same high quality of art, music, and plot. With multiple character classes and several solutions to many puzzles, the game has excellent replayability.

Features:
- Explore the rich world of Norse mythology!
- Three character classes with separate side quests: use your strength as a warrior, the arcane arts as a sorceress, wit and guile as a rogue, or create a hybrid with skills from multiple classes.
- 32 distinct voice acted characters with animated portraits.
- Over 100 hand-painted backgrounds and 10,000 sprites in animations.
- Many monsters, including giants, trolls, and svartalfar.
- High replayability due to optional quests, alternative solutions, and the three different classes.

Sometimes I do sort of wish that amateur efforts would forgo voice acting entirely, as unprofessional actors can be worse than none at all. Still, I've been looking forward to this one for a long time (as I do for any QFG-like), and it seems to be shaping up well.

A Tale of Two Kingdoms was also a very good game for anyone looking for something to play. Lots of alternate solutions, endings, a big world to explore, and even a little C&C.

Is it really fully voiced? Could be just a trailer VO.

The VO was fine. People are retards. Real time combat with block or attack seems kinda boring. Looks fucking beautiful though.

Awww, I was hoping for an all-female version of GW's old HeroQuest.

Haha, for serious, looks pretty good. VO I'd rather leave than take, but the graphics are really nice, and the idea has appeal. Cool!

Now where have I seen this garden before?

My first thought of something similar was Saga Frontier's character select, but checking shows only the water (with waterfall) position and general style of building (wall-less building on flat foundation) are similar.

ugh of course all their download links are broken and don't work. I guess I won't be able to try out A Tale of Two Kingdoms. :/

looks pretty cool, but Heroin Quest would be a cooler game.

It's based loosely on Erana's Peace in qfg 4. At least that's the one it bears the most obvious resemblance to.

Looks very nice, indeed. Can't comment on the VO 'cause mute the sound but most of the time I prefer text over voice.

And yeah, A Tale of Two Kingdoms links all go 404 for me. Thanks JarlFrank.
