So I ripped some pictures from Streets of Rage Remake and made their background transparent. It's kind of rough, but it's the first time I've ever done something like this. Will you consider adding them to avatar gallery ?

You just squashed their faces. That's not the right way to do this. You need to crop them.

But that's going to cut way too much in certain occasions, like here. Although some others will do ok, I guess. I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, sometimes you have to make a call and decide where to crop from (not always from the top). I had to do that with all of the Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity portraits.

XnView MP is very good for this. It has an interface that lets you efficiently go through all of the images in a directory and crop them one-by-one, making adjustments on the fly.

Looks good, but can you just put them in a zip file and upload it somewhere?

Thank you. This has been a crash course in creating avatar galleries for the Codex.

Those of you who said to add a transparent border to make the images square-proportioned instead of cropping them - yes, that's also an option, but unless an image is almost square-proportioned (width-height ratio of at least 0.8), I prefer to crop. It looks better. See VentilatorOfDoom's portrait for an example how weird it can look if you don't crop.

A cropped Infinitron does have a certain 'I've got my eye on you, edgelord' feel to it
