After having played 95% of my Mount And Blade time on unfinished beta builds, I don't want to burn out on a beta anymore. At least, MnB early access was much cheaper than the final game.

Nope--I only pay for beta/early access when a game is actually far enough into development to have a beta.

I backed Legends of Eisenwald and took a look at the beta. But I won't play more, because I don't want to spoil the game with a half finished stuff. I'll wait for final version.

Wasteland 2: didn't get beta because beta is towards the end of my final uni semester, recipe for failing subjects right there.
    Grim Dawn: (beta access)
Legends of Eisenwald: (beta access - played first day of beta, it was like pre-alpha stage at best)
    Project Eternity: (beta access)

Most of the big ones (W2, T:ToN, P:E, D:OS, SR, Xenonaughts) but I won't play them until they're finished so wouldn't even look in the forum.

I backed all of them, Wasteland 2 thru inXile's online shop. But none of the tiers I pledged had beta access. Fargo is a stingy mofo and didn't give beta access on Torment Collectors Edition.

Edit: What I mean is that I backed all the games mentioned by the spammer jew.

I bought beta access to Wasteland 2 and planned to increase my pledge to get it for Original Sin too, but they don't allow increasing pledges (supposedly you will be able to buy beta ccess separately, though - I will see about that). I am also considering it for Project Eternity, if they get around to creating the backer portal.

Torment I will skip, because of financial and storyfaggy reasons.

Dead State, I'm only mildly interested in.

Oh, I also have early access to Legend(s?) of Eisenwald, if that counts.

I've got alpha (where applicable) and beta access to all but D:OS, which I won't be buying until after its release.

I'm not sure I want to exercise that access, though, since I'd rather play the release versions than help the developers squash bugs. There'll be no shortage of willing bug testers. That said, since PE is so controversial, I may want to get in as early as possible just to help fuel the encyclopedic, endless argument that will surely have passed 1,000 forum pages by then.

At least MnB didn't have much of actual content to go through, its sandboxy replayability meant I could spend years in beta and then fully enjoy version 1.11. (it also helped modders, they learnt the module system well even before the game was done)
I'm waiting with PE and ToN, I'll be taking a week off for those and playing them unspoiled and uninterrupted. ;) There should be replayability, but I feel like not forming my first impression in the alpha/beta stage.

FFS just make BETA ACCESS threads where people who want to be spoiled can read them and avoid if they wish. Why protect people from themselves?

    That's a possibility, but

    1) People in the beta might be at different stages within it. They might actually want to avoid spoilering each other, not just the people who aren't in the beta. So multiple threads would help with that.
    2) When you mouse-over a thread, you get a little preview snippet. Those can contain spoilers. And in Tapatalk you always see the preview.

A BETA ACCESS thread might still be a solution if there aren't enough people in the Wasteland 2 beta on the Codex to justify a forum. Another possibility would be to start a private group conversation for beta participators.

That said, maybe we should open a forum anyway, a forum that would open to the public when the game is released and become a general Wasteland 2 discussion forum.

The same is true for any new release, yet the discussion is usually consolidated to one thread.
From the first post, which will very likely not have any spoilers.

    That'd be preferable, but awfully RPGWatch/Something Awful-ish.

True, but these particular new releases are going to be kind of a big deal here on the Codex. I mean for fuck's sake look at the PE thread.

In Tapatalk you see the latest post, but whatever, this is relatively minor.

True, but like I said, Wasteland 2, the closest thing we'll ever have to a true Fallout 3 - kind of a big deal. We might shut down the forum and merge it with Computer RPG Discussion after a while. Or repurpose it for the next big Kickstarter RPG.

(FYI, this is purely my idea, not something the rest of the staff is discussing - maybe we can start now)

Got PE and Torment betas, will probably only use the PE one and even that is dependent on the contents.
