In all seriousness, that would be pretty interesting. Though, the only way to develop a story there, is exploring the limits of such a society and how overconfidence in your own ideals ultimately leads to the opression and downfall of the very people you wanted to uplift in the first place.

A world based on the Barchester Chronicles could have some merit.
You start as a lowly clergyman the aim is to become the Bishop.

You can have multiple paths towards this
1.Pious route of good deeds,helping the poor the elderly,charismatic sermons etc..
2.The methodical practical way sound financial management,sucking up to the important folk etc...
3.Being a complete bastard,arranging accidents for rivals,fucking the wives of important folk,appropriating funds as needed etc..

Companions could accomplish many deeds in support of your actions and add another level of interaction.

You could have a sub game if playing a bastard where you also become head of the local coven and propel it to greatness.
