I'd be enjoying this fine product right now, but I refuse to have to manually rebind my keys.

on the back of a T34.
I stopped playing for now,i will wait until it runs better in my pc.
Im a bit disappointed though that you cant freely roam the world like in the gothics.
Also food and water are more like a gimmick than something that adds to the experience, geting hungry and thirsty just decreases a bit of your health and stamina.also water and food is pretty plentiful(reminds me of hardcore mode of new vegas).
Also do i need a different recipe to make standard bullets?

How is xp calculated?there is no notification of how much i earned every time i solve a quest or kill mobs.
You get XP for killing and fro reading books (!). There is a quest book in which each page nets you 10 XP, I got a whole level reading it. You do not get XP for doing quests.

It amazes me that a low budget Russian indie has better art direction than most triple AAA developers.

The awesomely designed and elaborate setting is the core of this project and it was developed long ago. The gameplay aspects have changed a lot during the process (at firth the game was planned to be cooperative etc). So as I seet it that's why Insomnia is so stunning aesthetically and so unplished and clunky from a gameplay perspective.

Holy shit, having this game's environments in your portfolio would be a major achievement for any designer, and not just in video games, too. This is seriously impressive stuff. I wonder who did this.

Russians made this game too? It looks like they're number one for games today, at least in my book. Western faggotry is behind me, finally.

Make the Codex Great Again!
Patch #2 coming to the rescue at the end of this week!

Patch #2 coming to the rescue at the end of this week!
2 OCTOBER

c73c0c3dab1978d848bfcde35a1cacd7f5ce41b6.png

Hello everyone!

We've been working hard all weekend to gather, analyze and test a number of the most common issues you have reported so far through the Community Hub and the bug submission form[docs.google.com].

Fixing some of the problems encountered is taking a bit longer than expected. Our current plan is to delay the release of the patch until the end of this week to make sure the latest build is as stable as possible.

We thank everyone for the time and effort spent helping us track these issues down, as that is the most effective way for us to know what went wrong and how we can solve any emerging problems. This brings us to the list of issues addressed in the coming patch:
  • Fixed the game crashing for some players after picking a class and getting weapons/equipment.
  • Fixed the game crashing for some players in the Prologue, after exiting ‘Thyper’s shelter’ location.
  • Fixed the game crashing while the player is in the ‘B-27’ location.
  • Fixed the game crashing when players attempted to sell more than 50 items from the inventory.
  • Fixed the game crashing should the player attempt to break a 100 item stack in the inventory.
  • Fixed the game occasionally freezing on some higher-end systems (GeForce GTX 1050 TI, Six-Core AMD Processor).
  • Fixed a bug with a particular dialogue branch that could cause the game to crash.
  • Fixed limited mouse cursor movement in a 2к/4k display resolution while the game is run in Fullscreen mode.
  • Fixed an issue with the maximum screen resolution not being set while changing the resolution in Fullscreen mode.
  • Fixed a bug with an elevator becoming unavailable after loading a save in the Customs Authority location.
  • Fixed an issue with the ‘Reloading’ message staying on-screen if the player holstered
their weapon while the reload animation was playing.
  • Fixed a bug where players could equip a few decorative weapons that were not meant to be used by the player character in combat.
  • Fixed an issue where players were occasionally not able to leave a location due to a random event/mission.
  • Fixed a bug where the sounds effects for eating and drinking would occasionally keep playing even after the process is interrupted by the player.
  • Updated a few item descriptions to correctly display their effects.
  • The achievements "Back in Business" and "Sir, yes sir!" now unlock correctly.

We are also aware that the issue with the mixed-up localizations (bits of Russian text appearing in the English version of the game and vice versa) is affecting your enjoyment of the game. Rest assured, it is a high-priority bug that we hope to fix in the patches that are coming after this one.

Our team, along with the publisher, will continue to gather your feedback. We plan to improve INSOMNIA on a weekly basis (or bi-weekly, depending on the severity of problems encountered) in order to meet your high expectations with regards to our game.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope you continue exploring Object 6 with us!

End of the week eh? Oh well at least I have Pathfinder. What a remarkable coincidence that two potentially inclined games were released on the same day from Russia...
Hang on, it IS a remarkable coincidence.:hmmm:

Where can I read about skills and classes more in-depth? Those locations alone warrant a purchase, but I'd like to read up on its mechanics while Pathfinder saps all of my free time...

I'd also be grateful if you wrote what, in your opinion, play styles can be utilized in the game (maybe stealth characters, tech specialists, heavy soldiers, etc).

Damn, I was hoping the patch would be ready today. I guess I'll wait until Friday then.

Now just to decide who has the least show stopping bugs.

This game for certain. It's tied with Deadly Premonition for buggiest game I've ever played.

There are no active skills. Just take a decent axe and chop everything.

The main quest I was doing from the screenshots is bugged to hell, but supposedly there's an alternative questline to bypass it that some Russian guy told me about. I'm going to keep playing and hopefully finish by the end of this weekend.

I was wondering how many hours you have in your playthrough so far, and if you have any feeling of how long a single playthrough is in general?

Roughly 30 hours and I'm guessing halfway through the game. Poor performance and bugs contributed a lot to that time though.

So this game doesn't let you look up / down? But why though?

Did they explain why it didnt stick with the isometric view? would have been so much better. Camera system and mouse performance are unwiedly to say the least.
