I have neither played the beta firsthand or plan to buy it, but from what I gather it doesn't have even fake choices, since it has no dialogue and you only hear things from audiologs and robots. Numerical character progression is limited to picking a perk card from randomized pool after leveling up, so you can't even plan your build.
