JORRY is a horror point & click game inspired by the classics of the 90's, including an action and survival game play.
Fully playable with the mouse, it requires dexterity for the fights and logic for the riddles.
This game contains violent scenes in 16bit, it is intended for an adult audience...

Claire regains consciousness tied up and trapped in an unknown room.
She does not remember anything, she feels like everything fell apart.
How to escape from this nightmare and who is this mysterious little girl who seems to know her?

Demo available on itch.io: https://korozif.itch.io/jorry

I like the trailer's song but that's about it.

Apart from the pleasant technical and atmosphere aspects what I remember is a fun clock riddle and that overall the game seemed to be more about solving puzzles than action.

It seems heavily inspired by snes' Clock Tower.

I gave this thing a try. I'll certainly give it two things, one, its the best survival horror game made in AGS, and two, it has very nice artwork. There are a few problems here and there, but I tend to notice these things, your opinion may vary. Its a combination of low-res things spliced in and actual pixel art.
The bad? There's a lot of it. Combat isn't good, it isn't bad, its just there after a while. Early on the weapon you use requires you to reready it after every shot, but later you get one that can be rapid-fired. You don't get a melee weapon until later. Only problem is that 90% of the time you aren't going to be using that melee weapon because ammo is so plentiful and enemies so unnecessary to fight that combat is unnecessary. You get ammo and health from killing enemies, which renders the survival part moot. The only time you sort of need to fight is whenever the game does a panic stage where you have to kill a select number of monsters. Or you can hide. But then you'll miss out on getting points so you can upgrade your abilities. And against the games main antagonists, you can only hide. The game would have been better without the whole shooting thing. For a good chunk of the game, you don't have to. There's also the final confrontation, which just has you on god mode trying to solve some simple puzzle.
Most of the puzzles are pretty good, but there's one near the end that has you go all across the game, while dodging enemies and the antagonists. They constantly jump out of the elevator. Which makes the game less scary and more tedious. There's also a pool puzzle and piano puzzle that had issues, but those were due to the interface, not the puzzles themselves.
The story is obnoxiously cliche. The woman you play as constantly complains about pain in her stomach. She's pregnant and the antagonists raped her. The girl you spend the whole game chasing after? She was also raped, and she doesn't exist. You've been hallucinating a mental asylum as some art deco mansion. Yeah, you just helped a crazy pregnant woman escape from a place she clearly needed to be in. Good job!
