Alright, this game just came out, and it looks pretty much like a Metroid Prime clone, which is a good thing. It ticks all the boxes: first-person, shooting, platforming, but most importantly - upgrades that open new areas. Most of the reviews I've looked at so far seem to agree it's doing a pretty good job.

Unfortunately it's an Epic exclusive, so right now that's the only option for PCs apart from sailing the high seas. It's on XBox and PS4 too. I'm trying to find out what the shooting is like on consoles. The Metroid Prime games (those on Gamecube at least) had a target lock-on for enemies to prevent it from feeling too much like a shooter. If this game has the same thing I won't mind playing it on console, but I can't find out. Anyone here played it?

It doesn't look much like Metroid Prime at all to me, but I like metroidvanias so I'll probably check it out.

Since it's suposed to be a goofy platformer Stylized graphics are a natural fit and the artsyle seems decent (unlike Fortnite). Plus stylized graphics age very well.

I watched the Giant Bomb Quicklook of it and it looked alright. Was hard to tell since those guys played the game so badly. The traversal and shooting both looked pretty normal, not like Prime's lock-on and stronger focus on platforming and whatnot. I don't have asperger's so I'm fine with other stores, but too much to play right now to drop full price on it.

This isn't Metroid Prime quality, but it is a fun game for a weekend. Thanks for the recommendation.

Some thoughts:
-Danger/threat level is a little low
-If the irreverent humor was toned down a little it would feel less forced
-I hope this does well and inspires more games in this general direction

I really like this game.

There's a DLC called Hot Garbage out. If you liked the main game you'd probably like the DLC as well.

Looking forward to what the reformed studio is going to do next. Of course, since it's payed for by Tencent I guess it'll contain spyware or something...

Anyway I'd love it if their next project has more simulated systems and less invisible walls!
