Kenshi 1 update now uncertain:
  • Here's the kicker: Porting Kenshi 1 to Unreal engine is now way more work than making Kenshi 2, because we have to port assets and make the old stuff work, where for Kenshi 2 we are making the assets from scratch in the Unreal-compatible way. We have started porting Kenshi 1, but I'm not sure whether to finish it because it is a lot of extra work and will delay Kenshi 2

This sucks. Many of us won't live long enough to see Kenshi 2. An updated Kenshi 1 would be a bird in the hand, at least.

Just accidentally stumbled upon this title. Why is it not famous as, say, Underrail? Also it seems that I have a perverted attraction to games that spend decade in the making.

It's way more janky than Underrail.

Also, "muh grafix"

The one thing bothers me - does game have any kind of ending? Or is it like autistig single mmo? Even fucking minecraft have kinda ending.

Although there is no plot, or any other sort of structure, that would provide Kenshi with a conventional CRPG ending, if you explore thoroughly and pay attention to the lore, there is a particular encounter that can serve as the climax of the game, as well as a denouement of sorts for

It's a singleplayer sandbox. A fucking GREAT one at that, it's amazingly fun when you get into it.

At the same time, if you're a player who likes being told what to do / is not a fan of exploration (nothing wrong with that, just personal taste) I don't think you'll find getting into it easy.

The developer is a 1-man studio, isn't it? I wouldn't expect that a completed sequel is just around the corner.

To my knowledge, he started as a 1-man studio, but then as he got money through early access, was able to hire a small team to work with him.

I'd expect it to take a long time, but not nearly as long as the first game.

If it's something you're interested in, check it out and refund it in 2 hours if you don't like it. It's a long start in the beginning though.

2h in kenshi is nothing, but probably more than enough to see if you dig it or not.

Kenshi 2 wont prob. come out in some years.-

on sale on steam right now for about 16 euros.
still on the fence: how far is kenshi 2? 15 years or is it a tangible project?
If you're thinking of waiting for the sequel rather than purchasing the original, I expect it's a few years away, and the original deserves support for its interesting systems and setting. Kenshi, for all its flaws, is probably one of the two best games released in 2018. Unless you're one of those bizarre people who profess to enjoy CRPGs while being uninterested in exploration, you'll appreciate Kenshi.

This Kenshi thread doesn't include Fluent.

Now I know how Peter felt when Jesus died.
