I remember playing Quake back in the day using arrow keys + Page Up / Page Down instead of a mouse.

I still used keyboard only for old shooters untill I started using ZDoom (in 1999 I think it was?).
This is is me lying because I couldn't remember. I probably started using mouse + keyboard with Quake 2 and Half-Life (in 1998?).
I remember playing Quake back in the day using arrow keys + Page Up / Page Down instead of a mouse.
I remember doing that too. Maybe I should replay Quake 1 with mouse and see how it fares...

Out of curiosity, guyz what was yours first fpp shooter that made you switch from keyboard only to m+b?

Mine was Quake 2, thanks to it I redone my control habits for earlier games like Quake, Doom or Duke3D.
Quake 1. +mlook was the first console command I ever learned.

I enjoy playing Doom source ports with mouselook today, but I wouldn't call it an authentic way to play the original .WADs.
