    Hmm no one pledged for Grim Dawn ? Here's my list but I'm not longer sure about the amounts:

    Wasteland 2
    Shadowrun Returns
    Grim Dawn
    Project Eternity

    I still KS stuff occasionally, but I'm kind of burnt out on vidyagame kickstarters. I prefer boardgame kickstarters, where they already have the game done and the rules available for a readthrough. When the kickstarter cash immediately goes towards printing the components, I don't have to worry about vapourware to the same degree.

    Still waiting on serpent's tongue though. :(

    I don't think there will be much kickstarting from me next year.

    I've already spent $926 on Kickstarter this year and have $15 in on Thorvalla and £22 on The Amiga Works. I will probably opt out of these though. I've already cancelled my plegde for Elite. And Cleve, of course, let's not forget him. He got $50.

    It really is pretty lame spending aprox $1000 on games etc. where most of them won't be finished (hopefully) for another 1-2 years. What should one do in the meantime? Replay the (m)Ass Effect Trilogy, DA2 or just disassociate oneself from society and perfom a year-long wank in honor of the great incline.

    Pledged $50 for Grim Dawn, since I was tired of all those silly WOW cartoony looking ARPG games, and wanted a return to Diablo I.

    On that note, have you tried Path of Exile? That pretty much scratches that D1/D2 itch for me - I'm sure it'll hold me over until Grim Dawn is released.

    Yah, I actually got the entry level pledge, and played it for a while, but then they keep doing those wipes. I will pick it up again when they stop doing wipes, but one thing that game seems to be lacking is a good story, which I hope Grim Dawn will have. And yeah, Grim Dawn I think will release mod tools, and so nothing can beat that, since I only plan to solo.

    Other games I pledged are :

    Wastelands
    Banner Saga - more for the story and animation than the gameplay
    Xenonauts
    Castle Story (prob won't play though)
    Dead State
    Project Eternity (not really excited for it)
    Grimoire :P

    Why would Obsidian start making good games now when they're doing one with a smaller budget?

    Because they have no pressure to make a shitty game?

    Edginess is so depasse this days, but the Codex still thinks its all the rage. I mean, Chris Avellone? Tim Cain? Josh Sawyer? Fuck those guys, like they ever made a good game in their entire career. Now inXile, that's a trustworthy company.

    Yeah, I'm not that enthusiastic about new kickstarter projects as before. Just for this thread I've calculated all the money spent on it and it comes ~1k USD. Which means that I do spend too much on games.

    Of all the stuff I've backed so far those are complete:
    * Schlock Mercenary The Board Game - quite nice, maybe will write more about it in the gazebo;
    * FTL: Faster Than Light - fuck yeah!

    Playable but not yet ready:
    * Xenonauts
    * StarDrive

    You are aware JVC now works at EA and is working on the new Command & Conquer series and is not going to suddenly quit his job there and do a kickstarter right?

    EA could do a Kickstarter with JVC's name on it, that would fulfill his criteria.

    I thought Bioware was making the new C&C. Is he working at Bio?

    BioWare announced a new Bio division, and this new division was making the new C&C game with JVC. But recently they seem to be quickly taking the BioWare name OFF everything (like the recent BioWare Mythic is now Mythic). So it may no longer be a BioWare division. Not that it matters anyways. BioWare Edmonton is the only BioWare that makes the actual BioWare games (Dragon Turd and Call of Mass Duty Effect).

    I was expecting this thread to be about Kickstarters recieving less and less money as too many people have jumped on the bandwagon.

    I myself have never donated to any Kickstarter game. Money issues in real life prevent me from doing so and the spare money I do get goes to books.

    Indeed. There are things I would kickstart if I could, but my money is tight.

    950$ on 20 KS's + 400$ on Codex + 150$ on ITS

    Projects that are related to games that I played and loved will still get major moolah. I probably don't have as much patience for 'lesser' projects now, though.

    Except that they're giving the ME sequel/prequel/whatever to BioWare Montreal.

    I've got 26 projects, but most of them failed. Also, 1 of those 26 is Myth, which I backed 1 dorra just so I could make fun of those retards.

    You're forgetting that their Montreal studio is doing Mass Effect from now on while the ME Edmonton team moves on to a new IP.
