I jumped ship a while ago. Have this mofos finished the game already? New maps, gunslinger class, balance, performance etc?

The Versus is hilarious. Player Zeds are so OP. On normal a single hit with a Gorefasts Z attack will chop away 50% of a players health and it has like a 2 second cooldown. Clots can grab players and they can't be shoved off and it's slow to kill them if you have a crappy pistol since they have more HP than normal Clots. Player Siren's have the ability to suck players toward them so they can't escape and Spiders explode in a cloud of poison when they die. On top of it all the respawn of Zed players is instant so they come at a frequency that is too much pressure for the survivors. It's like Tripwire didn't even try playing a single game with this mode and just shipped it off the instant it was ready. Once the novelty wears off it's just going to turn people away in disgust until they balance it, if they can.

Yeah but just wait until you start noticing everything that's wrong with this game. You see ZingaWire really is hell-bent on fucking up what could easily become a decent or even great KF successor and I'm not just talking about their RNG MT economy scam.

Seems to me that ZingaWire looks at everything that made KF KF and then either cuts out those elements completely or streamlines them to hell, just switch on your flashlight for a very visible example of this.

This game has been in early access for over a year and monsters still teleport around the map, there is still no listen server functionality, certain classes are still missing,...

ZW moderate their forums à la 22scams and they don't give a single fuck about player feedback, last KF2 patch introduced more retarded gameplay changing BS, this time they decided it was a good idea to give monsters weird resistances that nobody asked for.

jnE0Nri.png

I stopped playing when they patched in that MT BS but who knows, maybe mods will be able to fix this mess later down the line. There already is a WIP mod that attempts to make the game more like KF1.

So apparently they added weapon resistances for monsters so that certain monsters resist certain weapons, to act as soft counters for the classes. Seems gay as hell.

Fucking...what? Lol. I haven't played in a few months. Just started investigating and found this post on their forums:

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=118063

Guy on Tripwire forums said:
What really bothers me about the resistance system the most is that it makes headshots less rewarding than before. Notably against husks, gorefasts, and bloats.

The whole forced "shoot the backpack" nonsense from husk is amusing but it really shouldn't be the main way of killing them. The backpack on the back of a husk, and husks face the players. Not only is it more intuitive to shoot the head, but also far more practical than flanking it while it is aggroed on a teammate(if applicable). Sure players can explode the husk from the front due to the really wonky hitbox of a backpack, but more often than not it is an attempted headshot that went just a tad bit wide. The husk backpack should be an alternative, not the only option to efficiently dispatch husks.

If TWI wants husks to be a bigger threat, make them shoot fireballs faster like they did in KF1. Nobody is going to take the husk as a serious ranged threat when he takes 30 seconds winding up like a baseball pitcher between each shot. Making them tanky annoying zeds with indestructible heads is not the correct answer.

Bloats too. The whole concept of bloats was that even when decapped, bloats could be a nuisance in that they blocked line of sight against other threats behind it, in effect serving as a "meat shield." Their high body health meant that you were supposed to go for headshots. Headless bloats couldn't puke on you, which was one of the biggest advantages of going for that headshot. Their high body health meant that trying to kill them with bodyshot damage was not only less efficient but also more risky since bloats could still puke on players. And yet apparently TWI wants everyone to use fire against bloats, by making fire the only weakness against bloats and resistant to everything else. Not only is it counterintuitive to encourage bodyshot damage over headshot damage on a zed, since fire weapons are not good for decaps, but it feels like TWI is artificially "forcing" players to go along with it by introducing such a system and trying to make bloats something that they aren't.

Again, same thing with gorefasts. Their higher body hp and speed meant that decapping them was the best thing to do, since they stopped charging once headless. Making all bullet based weapons less effective at decapping gorefasts(2 ak headshots to decap? seriously?) was a mistake, and favors spamming bullets as opposed to aiming for their head. Decaps to trash zeds shouldn't require more than 1 bullet, or 2 for very weak weapons(like offperk 9mm) at the very most. Anything more than that and headshots feel almost pointless.

Fucking whaaaa

Why are these guys so intent on destroying their own franchise, this is like RO2 all over again.

Also, some other guy posted the resistance charts in case anyone is wondering

Just booted it up, it takes like 7 headshots with the M14 EBR (granted, at level 0 sharpshooter) to decap a bloat on hard - about the same as a Scrake

Not really a fun class to play as a result. I do really like the perk that gives you passively regenerating health with the Zerk though.

Wow, that thing about bloats explains a lot. I was wondering why I was unloading a clip and some more just to make a single bloats head pop. Fuck this game. Would refund if could.

I tried the free weekend and was left a bit underwhelmed. I was hoping for something different, but it basically felt like a reskin of the first game. Same enemies, same basic structure, same basic feel. I'm just failing to see what new contents or features are supposed to draw me into this one. Better graphics? Meh. More classes? and new Maps? Maybe, but I'm gonna need more than that. Was hoping at least for new enemies and all that was new was the boss.
