K2 is a decline of everything except graphics. Even the scenario was previsible.
A lp would be a better use of your time.
Basically, no upgrade, no economy, shit magic due to shield system, heroes are slow and weak and their development is uninteresting.
First one also gave you some freedom when the second is linear despite some usesles diplomacy. Also op flyers and worse vp system.
I actually liked that roman dlc more than the base game

I'm curious, what are the differences? I mean I played KA1 before, would it be a good idea to get 2? Or just say satisfied with 1?

Biggest difference is that the strategic layer has been more or less butchered. Kingdom management is reduced to the bare minimum, progression is much more linear and "main quest-locked" on all fronts, etc. It was also bugged up the ass on release so back then it was somewhat hard to say what was missing features and what was glitches.

I think it's still at least worth a check because it has some strong points, like story, atmosphere etc which are all top notch; or the expanded bestiary that includes angels and dragons and which leads to battles that are as ridiculous as they are cool and hilarious. Unlike Nahel I'm also of the opinioun that magic shields limiting the OP nukage that was KA1 magic was actually a good addition.
