I changed "good" to "really good" only because of Soul Reaver. It is a pretty good game. But I really think it falls short of Blood Omen. The best thing about Soul Reaver is its exploration, how you can shift from one plane to another and how the different powers you get allow you to reach new places. It also makes great use of the 3 dimensions for that. In that department, I think the 3d gives Blood Omen a big run for its money, but Blood Omen has a larger world with more areas to explore and even more abilities to do that. So I think it ends up being a match. But it also has better combat, better items, more diverse enemies (I won't say better enemies because I really liked how vampires worked in Soul Reaver), etc.

Soul Reaver's a spinoff, fam. It could have been as good a game without having the Kain name on it, outside of Defiance he was barely used, Amy Hennig could have written in any other character to be the mysterious antagonist.

False. Half the reason why both Soul Reavers are so fun are the constant throwbacks to characters and events from Blood Omen, and the way the games present them and their repercussions from different points of view and with new facts. Soul Reaver without Kain is also a Soul Reaver without Moebius, and Moebius is not just one of the central characters to the plot (especially in SR2), but also one of the coolest ones to boot in the series.

I'd love them to make BO3, but they'd probably fuck it up with some Emo or SJW shit.

Soul Reaver initially had nothing to do with Blood Omen, it was a standalone project called Shifter, only after CD won court battle with Silicon Knights and secured the rights to LOK did they tie it with the universe established in the first Blood Omen.

I'm pretty sure Shifter never went much farther than early concepts for plane-shifting and fallen angel main character.

Which ended up being some of the core mechanics for the game. Not saying it's a bad thing, it turned out rather well and is probably one of the most unique sequels in the industry. Not to mention that given that Denis Dyack is a grade A idiot, there's no guarantee Silicon Knights would have made any further use of Blood Omen IP in the first place.

Lololol fucking Square Enix couldn't even be arsed to hire blokes like Simon Templeman it seems. Legacy of Kain game indeed.

Yeah, it'd probably be riddled with shit like collectibles, challenges, tacked on RPG elements, QTEs, X-ray vision, obligatory stealth sections etc. not sure I'd want regardless of how Kain as a protagonist voiced by Templeman could pretty much save any game.

Besides, Defiance did a decent job of tying most loose ends (the one remaining being Vorador's resurrection) and was a satisfactory conclusion to the series as far as I'm concerned. Plus, no Tony Jay anymore :(. Better to just leave it be, let CD churn out Tomb Raiders till they drop.
