Invest some coin in at least basic armor, no reason for that precious XP to go to waste. Just sayin...

Munted..iirc means "buggered" or something along those lines? "Munter" I thought meant ugly person, nvm..
Looks like a maimed foot to me, guess you'll be joining the archery corps ;)

Did I just wade through that slaughterfest with nary a wound? Seems very unlikely, but I'll take it. Probably means I bite the bullet come next combat.

dag0net is on the money. Maimed foot, a permanent injury, along with a temporary one that will heal in a week. I have not seen any ranged weapons for sale yet, so you're officially a burden on the group :smug:

Shieldwall seems to be a p. good skill. It also helps that the less skilled members of the party got prioritised, and I'm pretty sure you have a habit of doing very well in my LPs.

Moving onto Day 3 later today. Going to sort out a brocall on the opening post with your traits and kill tally before that.

killing the enemy is the best way to keep yourself alive. i'd mold the rabble around teh spearwall and knockback skillz, maself.

Pike/halbredmen and two hander frontliners (though the latter is often a death sentence for low level characters) can get away with very poor fatigue indeed (I often run mine in the 50s with zero issues unless they're required to charge across a swamp or something).

Combined with +1AP per move? Not certain that's right, and don't know the AP costs of zweihander skills, but it'd seem to me likely to have a significant effect on your usefulness.
Incapable of chasing down archers, pikes and halberds are an option yeh, 2nd line troops and rly if you want anybody working without a shield it's probably your already maimed guys.

Not sure what level a guy has to be to not just get shot to pieces w/o a shield on teh frontline.

As to swamps, one of the tips should be "there are reasons why only inbreds and goblins and inbred goblins live in swamps."

There's a first or second level perk that reduces AP for movement by one (alongside fatigue) what could cancel it out.

Not taking any time to nurse our wounded, forcing oscar to hobble on his crippled foot we set off back down to Kampstadt, arriving to a job offer at Midday, 3rd of Itz.

No choice here. Either earn our pay in blood or become the bandits that we are preying upon, and so far that hasn't looked like an option.

I try haggling for more money, but our Jewfu is weak.

Cities, being a den of scum and villainy, are naturally good recruiting grounds for us. Reinhardt, Wayword Son and ERYFKRAD join the Kool Krew, with their bios placed in my journal page 1.

The rest of our gold is spent on equipment. You Bros are paid for your services, but I can't afford another day.

At a glance the bandits don't appear to have any ranged weaponry. With that in mind, I plan to make a shield-wall on solid ground and force them to advance on us - a plan aided by Gondolin's keen aim.
baRPVEo.jpg

Da battle advances all according to plan. Excellent. The terrain is hindering us almost as much as the enemy. Azira takes point at the North of our lines, standing waist deep in stagnant, stinking water and setting himself.

Beowulf claims first blood - poking over the top of Wayward Son with his pitchfork.
PgMnBNH.jpg

Longinus hacks down the remaining bandit on the South flank and the battle shifts up into the swamp actual, plunging rookie ERYFKRAD into the thick of things.
z7c4wT5.jpg

He might be hurt, but he ain't helpless :salute:
sXzppOf.jpg

oscar makes himself useful and finishes off one bandit as another moves to surround ERYFKRAD. Everyone is tiring fast but I can't risk drawing him back as I don't know if the attacks provoked by moving out of control zones requires stamina.
yNQoX4h.jpg

Fighting for his life like a true bro, ERYFKRAD dodges or blocks a number of incoming attacks as our chances of victory turn into a certainty.
ht8Q01G.jpg

The odds of everyone surviving are rather lower. Reinhardt takes a massive blow from the only healthy bandit as we struggle to make our numbers count, fatigue and the difficulties of moving in a swamp really restricting our options.
V35JZaR.jpg

But that was their last hurrah - first Gondolin taking down the exhausted, heavily injured bandit before Longinus takes the glory.
Ts8R5Eh.jpg

Wayward Son is not impressed by the amount of kill stealing on show :smug:
k51gyTB.jpg

The loot was shit. A couple of flails, but not really any upgrade on our current equipment. Before we can hail the ale, Beowulf has some choices to make and some consequences to live by. Take 3 and pick your perk, big man :bro:

:salute: Yes sir, sirdy sir sir!

With my mad skillz I'm not good at killing anything, I guess I won't be getting my dream Zweuhander for Christmas any time soon.
So let's try to be slightly better at not dying - I'll take Initiative, Fatigues and HP. As for the perk, if you don't have any particular in mind in order to synergize builds, I'd take the one giving additional hitpoints - Colossus, I believe; so I'll be a big man literally.

And killing someone with a pitchfork - old trick that works even on the Witchers.

err if you happen to hire a guy [that has bonuses to rolls in melee and ranged defense] and not need him for a reincarnation (or else), feel free to make him a knight of the round.

btw re: wayward son getting top dmg & no kills probably has alot to do with his axe being high %dmg vs armor & the shield dmg bonus or in other words..axes do more damage to armor and shields than they do to flesh, heh. axes are cool in this respect, most mobs have armor and if you're not penetrating it..you have to get it out of the way. (there's an onmouseover in battle reports with breakdowns for damage dealt)

i think the loot might be related to what survives the kriegz, in this sense armor penetrating weapons (daggers lel) would get you more loot than say.. axes. dunno tho, no doubt reading some fluff would be enlightening.

if you felt like adding to your workload you could work out a method of splitting monetary proceeds between your brothers with a separate pool for the band.

ty btw ;)

Updated page 1 with everyone's bio. Make sure you check them, before they get deleted upon your death :smug:

Figured a caravan escort mission would be easy. You'll see how that turned out soon enough.
