Point and click adventure doesn't seem to be the best genre if one wants to convey a superheroish feeling.

Let's Play Noctropolis, Part 10: Breadcrumb trail

Unaware of the ominous telephone conversation praising our l33t elevator riding skills, we follow-up on a lead Jenkins gave us and travel to Dynatek.

Recognition at last!

petergrey.png
: What happened here?

lpnoctrop408.png

petergrey.png
: When did it happen?

lpnoctrop409.png

petergrey.png
: Has there been an investigation?

lpnoctrop410.png

petergrey.png
: I'm looking for the person in charge of the Incarnate division.

lpnoctrop411.png

petergrey.png
: I'll look him up. Thanks for your help.

lpnoctrop412.png

We're now free to question him on every subject we've learned so far. He doesn't really add anything that we don't already know, but in case we didn't catch one of the many subtle hints that something might, just possibly, maybe, be up with the Sunspire Tower project, he sneaks another in.

lpnoctrop413.png

It's probably nothing.

The Neon Noose is just down the corner, so let's stop by and talk to Jim.

lpnoctrop414.png

lpnoctrop415.png

David Duchovny?

lpnoctrop416.png

petergrey.png
: Are you Jim Drake from Dynatek?

lpnoctrop417.png

petergrey.png
: The guard over at your building gave me your name and said I'd find you here.

lpnoctrop418.png

petergrey.png
: I would like to speak to someone from Incarnate.

lpnoctrop419.png

Probably just a coincidence...

petergrey.png
: Where did Dr. Schwartz live?

lpnoctrop420.png

petergrey.png
: Can you tell me about...

lpnoctrop421.png

THAT'S IT!

Wait, that's it? You did the lighting?

lpnoctrop422.png

lpnoctrop423.png

Now that's interesting... guess we'll go have a look at that Greenhouse then.

After a quit trip to Main Street to get directions (for some reason the Greenhouse will not pop up as a location if you don't ask the newspaper vendor or hall of records clerk about it), we head to the Central Park Greenhouse.

lpnoctrop426.png

*sigh* Why is nothing ever simple?

lpnoctrop427.png

lpnoctrop428.png

Some tools, fertilizer, seeds and two bottles of quick growth formula... nothing really out of the ordinary. Being the friendly neighborhood kleptomaniac we are we nick the seeds and formula.

And so long as we're stealing, might as well break and enter too.

: What could a sick mutation like you have to do?

You fight like a cow.

lpnoctrop444.png

petergrey.png
: What's so special about you?

Seriously, Poison Ivy is a far better eco-terrorist villain and is at least nice to look at.

Bound, poisoned and alone... Is this the end of the second Darksheer?

Find out on the next update!

Let's Play Noctropolis, Part 11: If at first...

lpnoctrop450.png

Without Stiletto to solve puzzles for us, we need to think fast. We have only 2 minutes before we die from Greenthumb's poison.

Let's check our inventory.

lpnoctrop451.png

lpnoctrop452.png

Hmm...

She's fine.

lpnoctrop461.png

lpnoctrop462.png

lpnoctrop463.png

As we step out of the greenhouse, a bunch of papers swirl past us. The loud wind sound makes them very difficult to miss.

lpnoctrop464.png

lpnoctrop465.png

Just in case you missed Greenthumb mention he was going to the opera.

We'd follow after him, but with only a minute before we die of poisoning, we go to Shadowlair first.

lpnoctrop466.png

lpnoctrop467.png

You immerse yourself in the cool liquid. As the darkness surrounds you, you enter a state of drug-like euphoria, and somewhere in the back of your mind you remember that the Liquidark is restoring your health and recharging the Noctroglyph and Liquidark grenade.

lpnoctrop469.png

lpnoctrop470.png

Recovered from the schooling we took from Greenthumb's plants, we follow our only clue.

lpnoctrop471.png

After a quick stop at the Hall of Records to ask directions, we head to the Opera.

lpnoctrop472.png

lpnoctrop473.png

lpnoctrop474.png

lpnoctrop475.png

There's also a hooker here.

lpnoctrop476.png

But since we don't have any money, and can't get any during the course of the game, we ignore her.

lpnoctrop477.png

We head inside to meet Tophat.

lpnoctrop517.png

petergrey.png
: Let the audience go. You don't need them.

lpnoctrop518.png

petergrey.png
: I didn't know the last Darksheer, but this one won't turn his back on a friend. You can bet on that!

lpnoctrop519.png

petergrey.png
: Why do you want the lens?

lpnoctrop520.png

petergrey.png
: Somehow I don't believe you.

lpnoctrop521.png

Ok, we'll do it. It's not like we have any other leads to go on.

lpnoctrop522.png

In our next update, we break into a maximum-security observatory and face off with Tophat.

You should have asked for a bump to the next page. Loading 3 updates takes ages.

This super-hero seriously sucks (and still no-one doesn't care he is not wearing any mask?)

Tophat was a pretty cool villain IMO. Leagues better than Greenthumb.

saying 'bump plz' is a good way of getting the lurkers out of the closet

The cloak has a cowl that obscures his face, but Peter refuses to wear it in order to impersonate a city inspector.

Tophat's awesome. Probably the best character along with Master Macabre.

Well if any lurkers are reading, let's try and bump this to Page 5 for the next update.
