I gotta say, this game has some good ideas, setting-wise. Problem is they didn't know where to stop, and keep throwing in random shit. The Bethesda school of design. Spectres? What the...?

Why didn't they stick with the isometric turn-based CRPG original idea? They would have likely sold more and delivered something that could keep much of Codex busy for a while in the long wait for AoD release. And I'd probably buy it later if they had done a good one.

WHY?

I think the idea was to produce a cheaper-to-make game that would provide the funding to the RPG. Either that or their ADD minds got distracted just as they did when drawing up setting design, and they kept hopping genres.

Yup, the idea was basically to make a slam dunk.

Also, on the account of spectres - it might be speculated that Albert is just getting batshit from radiation or sunlight, but...

... you ain't seen shit yet is all I can say

As Albert leaves the crashed plane, he gets struck by a brief flash of light which summons daemons from the warp

XaOC3h.jpg

Also, a chimera breaks through a nearby wall. Derp.

v3CT3h.jpg

Ashen corpses line the streets. Poor bastards.

uly67h.jpg

Let us press on

dBmPhh.jpg

Now what

6ywzXh.jpg

A junk heap, how fascinating.

lbamwh.jpg

It starts twitching, what the hell

6JaYch.jpg

AND THEN THE JUNK STARTS SWIRLING IN THE AIR

DquL0h.jpg

More random junk is taken from the street and flies towards the centre of the anomaly

BzVQQh.jpg

0AybXh.jpg

osnap

8mnI0h.jpg

*dramatic construction*

iBmvqh.jpg

What. The. Fuck.

4MnQfh.jpg

A MACHINE DAEMON HAS TAKEN CONTROL OF THIS GARBAGE GOLEM

THIS REALLY IS 40K AFTER ALL

b1ICdh.jpg

This ball also stirs

o982Nh.jpg

6RLcah.jpg

And it lands on the golem.

atMzZh.jpg

But it simply stands back up, welcoming its last part.

B9d34h.jpg

OqO6Mh.jpg

Well, gee, Albert, I dunno. NOW you are acting surprised?

WmeMjh.jpg

Well, this is another bossfight.

ToiLih.jpg

This time there is no fuckhueg target painted on the enemy though, and just shooting it wherever does nothing.

qgCJph.jpg

It also uses potent telekinetic powers to throw various heavy things at Tokaj

6me0xh.jpg

Ah, stuff starts falling off from the golem when we shoot its right arm

wQ2pKh.jpg

Shoop shoop shoop

hKHQXh.jpg

And soon, the whole arm is severed. Excellent work, dr Tokaj.

But the golem is still walking around the place

i4Crch.jpg

Fortunately, there are two ammo dispensers and a lot of spare packs with lead, in case you run berserk

7xK1Fh.jpg

The dreaded foe has took up another strategy. It now gets close to Albert and activates this floodlight. This is bad for a number of reasons.

First, it, obviously, damages Albert.

DgyFEh.jpg

Second, it summons spectres.

Third, it summons more spectres, the longer you let it shine.

ATH7gh.jpg

Thus, you have to be very fast to shoot the floodlight once it's activated, or you'll get overwhelmed by a fuckton of spectres. Sometimes, the golem is kind of clever enough to turn around and start flashing, to maximise the spectre spawning potential because you have to run around it to get a clear shot.

ebSUwh.jpg

Once the floodlight is smashed, the golem employs another way of raping Albert, this time by stomping the ground and sending shockwaves of... stuff from beneath it at him.

x0A7Qh.jpg

Those shockwaves are actually pretty damn damaging, not to mention hard to dodge. And if you allow yourself to get overloaded with spectres...

h9dCNh.jpg

It's pretty much mission failed. Albert has not lived long to see much of the surface :salute:

eLU47h.jpg

After a quick rewind, we get back to seeking out a new weak point of the abomination

U6iL3h.jpg

QUICK! THE RETICLE TURNED RED! FOCUS ALL FIRE ON THE RED SPOT!

7DFWRh.jpg

This time, the construct has two weak points that effectively keep it from attacking. One is a metal sheet, serving as sort of a knee, that throws the golem off balance

pDVGnh.jpg

Second is a spot on its remaining arm.

M2NKth.jpg

GO DOWN ALREADY, YOU UGLY SON OF A BITCH

2NmX4h.jpg

YES!

Looks like this construct

has been condemned

:yeah:

efXh6h.jpg

Yup, this sure does look like present-day Bytom. The chimneys are a dead give away

Bmxkth.jpg

ENERGY LEGS

JeFMIh.jpg

Some weird noises in this alley, but nothing out of the ordinary can be seen.

HXopYh.jpg

Heh  'Kuż' is not just a mistyped version of 'Kurz' (dust). It's also a palindrome of 'Żuk', a type of van manufactured in commiepotato times

8NLrRh.jpg

An underground passage

RxkDih.jpg

With lurking chimeras

whCukh.jpg

Sunlight again

5m12Nh.jpg

Another street with ash-covered corpses

7hbEHh.jpg

WHAT THE FUCK, THIS DEADER GOT UP

5CzdVh.jpg

And it rises above ground after getting a full auto burst to the face

CVOmMh.jpg

And it starts glowing and yelling in pain

sr0cgh.jpg

Holy fucking shit

cBr0Lh.jpg

And another one...

brsB9h.jpg

:hmmm:

0VUlVh.jpg

Ok, at least this corpse is not rigged.

b6VFqh.jpg

We gotta clear ourselves some way through the shadows

JsB4Bh.jpg

Which we begin by kicking these derelict supermarket baskets away

I always wanted to do that :yeah:

6giQgh.jpg

A BLOOMING CHIMERA @_@

J08Zkh.jpg

Now we can go through this bus chassis

MnpNfh.jpg

I'm sure you could, Albert. Remember how it ended last time.

mwesZh.jpg

The bus stirs as Albert gets to the other end

5WA6zh.jpg

and it slides down somewhere

KwTSOh.jpg

An underground parking loft.

In a potato supermarket? Haha, not a chance

GVnMch.jpg

5n5B7h.jpg

You gotta shoot those old, light-reflecting TVs to pass, unless you want massive spectres flying after you.

gNNooh.jpg

And we move into the market proper

s17Y9h.jpg

RAWR!

uZOVoh.jpg

Shooting this box opens the garage door to the right

NbnHah.jpg

Explobarrels! How I love you! \^_^/

aqzBOh.jpg

The barrels eliminate the door blocking our way

wUkSPh.jpg

'SOLVE THE MYSTARY!'

Finally, some cryptic writings

v1SNeh.jpg

Chimeras on the horizon

j2BA5h.jpg

Dammit, those fat fuckers pretty much took the last rounds from my assault rifle :x

plpQxh.jpg

Let's see what's over there

HU0rdh.jpg

Something that can be used

LfTmgh.jpg

And it opens some more massive doors.

What can lie beyond those doors? When will things start making sense? Why do men have nipples?

These, and all other questions, will be answered in the next few updates.

Also, we are getting very close to the ending now.

Looks like they didn't know whether they wanted a nuclear post-apocalyptic or a zombie apocalypse setting and mashed both together. [/captain obvious]

Told ya so :smug: I like how the monster uses the power of light against you. In fact, it reminds me of something else...

Probably a coincidence.

I think the sun really got to our hero Albert. He was only in it for a few seconds but he's got some massive hallucinations caused by heatstroke.

This really is a perfect game to LP. Readers get to skip all the boring and repetitive combat, and just get the hilariously random narrative. Plus, it actually does have some good points. The "night city", for one, looks very cool and atmospheric. Pity they chose to fill it with the most unoriginal post-apoc cannibals ever. Except that guy in a funky hat, he was cool.

Is it getting TOO inane, however? I just keep expecting him to wake up in a padded cell and find out he's the protagonist from Dark Corners of the Earth.

I think this loading screen was already posted, but whatev'

Soundtrack for today's episode, even though the game keeps playing the City of Light theme, which is really good, but I feel this is more appropriate.

Oh for God's sake, can't you see I'm running out of ammo here?

zTcdfh.jpg

Keep on movin'

DlZN9h.jpg

Ok, this is seriously not cool. I already wasted all assault rifle ammo, I'm running superlow on pistol rounds, and they keep throwing those fat fuckers at me

ojlMAh.jpg

:salute:

And of course, when I finally DO find some ammo, it's SHOTGUN SHELLS :x

On the cross: Misje is polish for mission, no? And the dates on it, do they have any significance?

Close enough SerratedBiz, "misje"->missions, plural. Can be used in military, humanitarian, or bring-christianity-to-savages-whether-they-like-it-or-not context.

Dates on the cross: 1961, 1972, 1978, 1986, 1995, 2003, 2006, 2011. As for their significance - ditto.

The silliest game I ever played. And why I played this instead of Dead Space?
Thanks for the walkthrough.
