I've played the hardest difficulty once, and it was ok difficulty apart from the piss easy endgame in Ran route, ogres were a joke as was Shimazu. It's really not THAT hard - ok, you occasionally lose a battle, but it's not like that'll hurt you long term. Just have to use tactics that make the number deficit unimportant - shield spells, attacks that kill a % of all enemy troops, etc. You only need 1 set of excellent characters that can win any battle, and then you can slowly take over the map even if you lose a significant amount of your defensive battles.
If I'd use all the bonus points I got from that playthrough (130 or so iirc), there's no way it'd be still challenging anymore if I used all that when it felt kinda just right with the 20? points I had from my 1st playthrough.

But it would be nice to play it on hardest and go on a route which would have a satisfying endgame.

Because I am learning how to play now, any tips guys? I am having some serious problems with bringing stability to sectors. Like I sometimes put four admirals in the sector it it doesn't rise much (stability is a big deal - without it provinces do not produce any resources).

Normal admirals raise stability very little (It takes 8 turns for them to go to 100% stability from 0). For certain routes, you need to plan your admiral movement accordingly - some admirals can raise the peace level two or three times faster. Yamamoto has the "peacekeeper" skill, for example. Always have an admiral in a unstable province and try to move your peacekeeper/idol admirals so that you make the most of their ability.

The next update will show you one way to live with the low income in early game, in case you missed it.

I have a problem bros. I conquered Malay Tiger province some time ago. I've put there both Yamamoto (peacekeeper) and Hanitora (idol). I've been waiting for 5 turns and the public order did not improve in the slightest. WTF is going on?

Yeah, the main problem is the battle permits. With them you only need to fight 1 battle to conquer territories, all other offensive battles and all defensive battles can be beaten by having a single unit with permits. On the one hand it screws up balance completely, on the other hand fighting all of those battles would be an incredibly slow grind. Alicesoft adding them was a great idea, without it I would never be able to stand multiple playthroughs (esp on higher difficulties), but there needed to be some better way to balance them.

Another problem - how does one conquer Hawaii? Jesus Christ I tried everything but because I don't have carriers I get steamrolled there. I defeat the main flaet no problem but the one with carriers is simply an overkill.

Edit: Scratch that, I somehow managed. Goddamn that one battle was simply epic (in the original meaning of the word). The downside is, now I have to deal with HIM!

Well, I hate that I can only have 30 Commanders and I also hate if I can't recruit them all during one playthrough, but that's just me. I'm annoyed that IE/GB games only allow you 6 persons in the party too...

Most people who take Hawaii early in the game do so by abusing Tougou's random invincibility.

Except the first time isn't random, it's guranteed so they don't use him in battle until then.

But yeah, it's one of the more fortified location in the game and doing it with low tech is an accomplishment

Tougou thought that the way Mikado danced was pretty erotic, but he didnt say it out loud.​

His own fleet was more afraid of him than of the Japanese Navy by now.​

So fight we will. As you can see, three battlegroups. Two of them we must defeat, one is just a bonus that could be ignored. Naturally, we'll kill them all.

I did two major re-organizations. I removed the recently joined traitor Admiral's Laser Cruiser and gave it to Rinfa, and swapped one Laser Cruiser from Yamamoto with one of Matsuri's Destroyers.

Tougou will solo Shuu's flagship by himshelf, just because.

Rinfa will take the pandas by herself (since they are not communist pandas)

The rest of the admirals will face the toughest adversary... Prosper himself on the battleship Prosperous!

Combat starts...

Rinfa wipes one of the panda ships, takes a whole lot of damage but is still combat capable for round 2.

This is why I upgraded Matsuri for this fight. We have to wipe the weaker fleet out before they get a chance to return fire.

Unfortunately this means that we do not have enough firepower to destroy Tranny-Prosper's battleship in time...

Matsuri runs out of luck and is wiped out in one shot.

Yamamoto fires his rockets and Raizo finishes Prosperous off with a round of his cannons.

Tougou blasts at Shuu's flagshipship...

The Chun Empire, Shuu's flagship―​

[Empero Shuu] Fufufu, this will shock the Japanese. This asteroid here will be the largest battleship the universe has seen.​

[Operator] ...but my Emperor, all we really did was attach our cruiser to this asteroid...​

[Empero Shuu] Huh? Did you say something?​

[Operator] N-no, I didn't...​

[Empero Shuu] My battleship will hit them as hard as an asteroid. Hahaha!​

...and gets hit back, but Nagato is built sturdy.

Technically, we've already won. But I want to get the bonus for the pandas.

Next round isn't as exciting. Rinfa and Tougou wipe their foes without any further damage.

Good job, Rikori-chan. Maybe I'll character clear you this time around!

Everyone but Raizo and Rinfa level up. Matsuri's fleet got wiped, Rinfa is pretty badly battered and Tougou took a hit as well. But on the other hand, Chun empire is finished.

However, even with a combined effort both Aeris and the Nordic Union didn't stand a chance. The constant assault by Rommel's high-speed warships, which took turns while reloading between their raids, prevented any counterstrike.​

[Operator] Admiral! Our allied fleet is sustaining heavy damage! 3 of our ships...no, make that 4 have been rendered unable to move! The enemy is without casualties!​

The Scandinavian Star System was now under complete control by Rommel's fleet.​

The Viking Princess of the Nordic Union had made her escape from planet Fjord. Her current whereabouts are unknown.​

A few days after the 3rd Reichs victory, the former capital of the Nordic Union is visited by Adolf and Goebbels.​

There's no chance this LP will reach completion. We are at the start of the campaign, and there's hella lot out there. It would be a hard LP without translating half of the stuff. As it is - it's impossible.

BTW, I really wish a game like that, but "serious" one appeared someday. There's quite a lot of storyfagy material, decent C&C, and neat gameplay. As it is, it's merely a hentai flick with a few neat ideas thrown together. I wonder what strategy in space games were Alice Soft's inspiration for this title.
