Update 19 - Fields of Hayasdan (Beautiful Blob Betrayed By Baktrian Bastards)

UO0001.jpg

Ipsos is our only "heartland" province in asia minor and only pleace where we can train our faction units. Unfortunately it's populated only by three families and one dog. I lowered taxes so those bastards would breed faster (dog can go to hell though) but it's not enough. We will train shitty units in Ankyra and then disband them in Ipsos basically resetlling population. It's quite costly but we have to do it (we need some base of operation to fight Epeiros).

UO0002.jpg

Sarpedon is marching to Kyrene because it's one of provinces we must control to meet victory conditions. Unfortunately, taking Kyrene will make us border Carthage, and last thing we need is more fucking imperialistic neigbours.

UO0003.jpg

Zadrakata surrendered without a fight and it's going to get it's ass enslaved because population is unhappy.

UO0004.jpg

It was only matter of time. Finally, Baktria attacked us. Rebelion was not enough and Baktrian "king" want to expand his "kingdom" borders... O tempora, o mores!

UO0005.jpg

WAAAAAGH!!

UO0006.jpg

I decided not to mess with independent cities in the north and go straight for Hayasdan/Armenia (they are also guys who rebelled against Basileus and we need to destroy they to meet victory conditions). I disbanded our Hellenic Medium Cav because they made complete fools of themselves while we were field testing them during battle with sand niggers. Now we have only prodromoi (who also made fools of themselves but we need SOME cav ffs) in Hegemonides army.

UO0007.jpg

Damn, there is Thessalian cav to recruit here (as pseudo mercenaries) they are sweet but they cost so much... and we have other shit to do with our shekel. Maybe next time.

UO0008.jpg

Baktrian SATRAP (King my ass, you should be my bitch!) is sieging us with one unit of pandotapoi phalangitai, I decided to sally forth and bitchslap them.

UO0009.jpg

Baktrian native phalanx looks pretty much like ours, but they don't have this sweet ass symbol on their shields...

UO0010.jpg

... Actually, do you guys know what this symbol supposed to be? I always wondered what the hell it is, but to this day, I still don't know.

UO0011.jpg

We shouted few instults and Baktrians decided to go just go away.

UO0013.jpg

I put my army on river crossing, waiting for reinforcements because I was sure that even AI is not retaded enough to attack army on river crossing... but no, it is retarded enough to do it.

UO0014.jpg

Fair enough.

UO0017.jpg

UO0018.jpg

Have fun guys.

UO0019.jpg

UO0020.jpg

UO0021.jpg

UO0022.jpg

Stabity-stabity-stab.

UO0024.jpg

Well, quite stubborn people, dem parthians. But so silly, oh so silly...

UO0025.jpg

UO0026.jpg

Those guys are not cataphracts, they are "just" armored horse archers but I hate them anyway and concentrated my efforts on killing them.

UO0028.jpg

And my hatred made me reckless and fucked up our formation a bit but we are still fine.

UO0030.jpg

Their general either wanted to save horse archers or was simply stupid and charged into thick of it. We poked him with extreme prejudice and his death resulted in mass rout... rout in OUR direction, so their army got annihilated.

UO0032.jpg

You are running wrong way!

UO0033.jpg

UO0034.jpg

UO0035.jpg

That's parthian general revenge from the grave, our reinforcements got ambushed.

UO0036.jpg

And that's how ambush looks like in this game. Your unit start surrounded by enemy and are in "column" formation.

UO0037.jpg

We quickly tell them to regroup.

UO0039.jpg

And they managed to do it fast enough, well done.

UO0041.jpg

Unfortunately ambushers have one unit of horse archers so they will just shoot us till they are out of arrerz.

UO0042.jpg

They finally charged but then just retreated and left the field, I didn't know that "Eleutheroi" (rebels) armies can retreat so I'm quite surprised.

UO0044.jpg

Well, we "won".

UO0045.jpg

But our eastern army will be reinforced by less troops than they hoped.

UO0001.jpg

Epeirotes signed peace with S.P.Q.R... and they still own southern Italy, that's... unexpected.

UO0003.jpg

Reinforcements arrived and our eastern army is getting ready to poke the heart of Parthian kingdom.

UO0004.jpg

S.P.Q.R are finally doing something in Gaul. They just made Aedui their protectorate (vasall, basically) and that's bad news for Arverni and all Free People Living in a Free State (tm).

UO0005.jpg

First free city here that decided to fight for it's independence.

UO0007.jpg

UO0008.jpg

But it won't save them from being sold into slavery (They were quite happy but I'm not taking any chances).

UO0009.jpg

Now it's time to put Armenia back in line (Historically it was actually Armenia that destroyed remnants of Arche Seleukeia invading Coele-Syria - last bastion of Seleucid king).

UO0010.jpg

WAAAAGH!!

UO0011.jpg

Ha! Armenian bastards attacked Hegemonides from behind hoping to lift the siege. They don't know that one does not simply outmanauver best infantry in the known world!

UO0012.jpg

Be defualt we are facing stack that attacked us but Armavir garrison is much scarier army and will be behind us, so we have to turn around.

UO0013.jpg

We redeployed, leaving Armavir garrison enough room to organize their line (we could just rush them as they enter the field but that's too cheesy).

UO0014.jpg

hegemonides.JPG

Skirmishers, welcome Armenian "king's" forces...

UO0015.jpg

UO0017.jpg

They also have some nice stuff behind us, we will have to watch out.

hegemonides.JPG

Skirmishers, fall back. Rest of you get ready!

UO0018.jpg

UO0019.jpg

UO0020.jpg

I see you there! don't try anything funny.

UO0021.jpg

We have random shit being trown in our general direction while Armenian infantry do pretty good job at not being completely slaughtered by our Pezhetairoi.

UO0022.jpg

Army behind us is getting close so I send two unit of phalangitai to cover us. This made our left flank a little bit exposed but that's our Argyraspides flank so I have absolutely confidence in them.

hegemonides.JPG

Thorakitai! prepare to flank the enemy!

UO0023.jpg

UO0024.jpg

First they shall throw their glorious hellenic javelins and then charge with glorious hellenic fury!

UO0025.jpg

UO0026.jpg

They got butt-charged and we have to send Argyraspides to save their glorious hellenic asses.

UO0027.jpg

Armenians decided to avoid deadly wall of pikes and simply go around our phalanx in the back... sneaky bastards!

UO0028.jpg

Thorakitai are saved but we told them to go being useless elsewhere and let Argyraspides do their job.

UO0029.jpg

Then our rear got completely overrun...

hegemonides.JPG

Stop routing! COME BACK YOU COWARDS!

UO0030.jpg

I tried to send Throkitai from right flank to our rear but they got attacked by Armenian noble infantry and we can't move them.

hegemonides.JPG

Prodormoi! Follow me, we have to do it ourselves...

UO0031.jpg

UO0032.jpg

Thorakitai on our left flank are not only "occupied" by armenian nobles, they are being fucking slaughtered by them. We had to send some Pezhetairoi to help them.

UO0033.jpg

Meanwhile our archers and skirmishers are in full flight.

UO0034.jpg

And our main phalanx line is getting charged from behind by Armenian royal kinsmen heavy cavalry.

UO0035.jpg

... And our cavalry we send to help, got intercepted by armenians and tastefully raped.

UO0037.jpg

I didn't know they had so many fucking heavy cavalry, man.

UO0038.jpg

... They are everywhere, just... just so many.

UO0039.jpg

Fortunately our Klereouchoi and Pezhatairoi have pretty high morale so they keep fighting.

UO0040.jpg

Armenian cavalry is raping us, but our Argyraspides are completely crushing their infantry.

UO0042.jpg

We managed to encircle one unit of Armenian kinsmen cav and we are not going to let them escape.

UO0043.jpg

Armenian infantry finally broke and we can concentrate on fending off their cavalry attacks.

UO0045.jpg

... And by fending off I mean sending three pahalangitai units to stop one kinsmen heavy cavalry.

UO0046.jpg

But I think they finally have enough.

UO0047.jpg

UO0001.jpg

Why the fuck we even attacked Armenia?

UO0002.jpg

UO0003.jpg

We won, but lost shitton of men, especially since we outnumbered them quite nicely. Hegemonides is far away from Antiocheia so he won't recieve any reinforcements and Armenians are sending more shit here. He's on his own.

UO0004.jpg

Some of our men got healed though... we will put the stuffed bodies of those that didn't on nightwatch to scare off Armenians.

UO0008.jpg

Somehow Hegemonides got "decorated hero" trait for this battle. Whatever.

UO0005.jpg

Pergamon surrendered without a fight and we are going to enslave the shit out of it because it's a huge city and we won't be able to keep them in line if we don't.

UO0007.jpg

We have whole asia minor. Now I want island of Lesbos. Empire needs it for it's... strategic porn industry purposses.

We got attacked by turbanheads, proper turbanheads this time. Sabyn have 4 provinces and decided to attack biggest blob on map. I'm thinking about recruiting elephants-only army and send it down to arabia as a punishment for their insolence...

Update 20 - Achtung! Cataphract!

UO0001.jpg

We recruited some some mercenaries to bolster our numbers in Armenia. I hired one hoplite unit and 2 units of persian archers, unfortunately here are no cavalry here to hire (not good one at least).

UO0002.jpg

The fuck do you want here? go back to your precious arabia!

UO0003.jpg

Ok, Armenians attacked us again. They lost a lot of their heavy cavalry last time and I think those guys don't grow on trees here so we should be fine.

UO0004.jpg

Weather is shit but even if armenian infantry got bonuses in bad weather (or immunity to penalties from it) they are too few anyway so it should not make a difference.

UO0005.jpg

They are walking slowly giving us a lot of time to pepper them wit pointy stuff but those guys are quite well armored so effects were extremely dissaponting.

UO0006.jpg

UO0007.jpg

Their infantry have quite good staying power so we have to do this flanking thingy, fortunately they don't have any light cav to rush us and ruin our plans, like the last time.

UO0008.jpg

We managed to rout them and then our cavalry chased down the routers (that's the only thing our cav is good for).

UO0011.jpg

Now it's second army's turn.

UO0014.jpg

And they have heavy cavalry.

UO0015.jpg

Look at it!

UO0016.jpg

They just fucking charged through our phalanx. I want their cavalry, man (Actually I think we could have royal kinsmen cav by "hiring" allied eastern general in one of our satrapies/allied states but that's costly and unit would be gone if general got killed).

UO0017.jpg

UO0018.jpg

Well, there was too few of them in this battle to do much (and my tunnel vission didn't kicked in) so we managed to eliminate quite easily.

UO0019.jpg

UO0020.jpg

UO0021.jpg

UO0022.jpg

Winning this battle gave us Armavir. We enslaved it and took shitton of money for it.

UO0023.jpg

Seriously? They hauled their asses over here from arabia and attacked us with this stack?

UO0024.jpg

And that's all they have? They will pay dearly for this unprovoked aggresion!

*Seleukoi diplomat at formal meeting with Sabyn king... before recruiting army of alephants*

UO0026.jpg

Baktrians attacked again, and this time they brought three armies... There is nothing we can do about it, we may be huge blob but we only have three armies ourselves (and they are nowhere near).

UO0027.jpg

UO0028.jpg

I ordered some family member to deal with sand niggers and just autoresolved it because I don't feel like chasing skirmishers with phalanx. We won and casualties don't matter because we used garrison from Hierosolym and other places to deal with them.

UO0001.jpg

We have those cute guys but I think I will wait for MIC to improve in Antiocheia so we can recruit armored ones.

UO0029.jpg

Parthians are down to 3 provinces and they are trying to save one of them by attacking our army. They have a lot of armoured horse archers here so I'm not really looking forward for this battle.

UO0002.jpg

Parthians brought armoured horse archers, armoured horse archers, armoured horse archers and some cataphracts. We gon get raped.

UO0003.jpg

Good news is that our archers do pretty good job at dropping their armored horse archers.

UO0004.jpg

Well, Dahae Nobles are probably like Suromatae nobles, look all shiny but in reality they are dressed in leather armor with plates of polished horn.

UO0005.jpg

Then more horse archers approached (who would have thought?) and they are shooting our general so we have to get him out of there.

UO0007.jpg

Ok, they brought SOME infantry.

UO0010.jpg

And there I was, thinking "hey, it's going pretty well" and then BOOOM! Cataphracts.

UO0011.jpg

My left flank is fleeing and I can't blame them.

UO0012.jpg

UO0013.jpg

We organized some rescue expedition for our left flank while other Parthian Cat's are chaging straight into our phalanx in the center, because they just don't give a shit.

UO0014.jpg

Pezhetairoi can't hold formation but at least they are not fleeing.

UO0015.jpg

Then fucking miracle happened. Parthian general had heart-attack.

UO0016.jpg

UO0018.jpg

Most of Cats routed because of dead general.

UO0019.jpg

I tried to make sure they won't regroup while trying to keep us in formation because another organized charge could break my men.

UO0020.jpg

And I think they are bugging out.

UO0021.jpg

Yup, they fled.

UO0022.jpg

I think we wasted our chance to deliver finishing blow to parthians here.

UO0023.jpg

We pretty much depopulated Ass-sack creating this army, we can't replenish our forces and mercenaries here suck badly.

UO0024.jpg

And I auto-resolved siege of Nisa because "they have 166 men, auto-resolve can't fucking screw me over on this", but yeah, it can.

UO0025.jpg

But we did some raping and pillaging so I'm allright now.

UO0026.jpg

Then we recruited few mercenaries here but I don't have much hope they will be any help.

UO0027.jpg

Ok, Baktrians finally attacked. I don't think I can defend this city and army that is tasked with fighting Baktrians is in... egypt.

You planning to lose some battles to cataphracts, simply so you can reform and train them yourself?

Nah, we will have reform only if we happen to lose 2 large battles with cat people I'm not planning to lose those battles on purpose just to get this reform. And to be honest I think we should be fine if we finally get some Companion Cavalry.

... Actually, do you guys know what this symbol supposed to be? I always wondered what the hell it is, but to this day, I still don't know.

Wikipedia appears to have an answer on the symbol for Seleucus, though I must admit that I don't know how accurate this is.

A number of legends, similar to those told of Alexander the Great, were told of Seleucus. It was said Antiochus told his son before he left to battle the Persians with Alexander that his real father was actually the god Apollo. The god had left a ring with a picture of an anchor as a gift to Laodice. Seleucus had a birthmark shaped like an anchor. It was told that Seleucus' sons and grandsons also had similar birthmarks. The story is similar to the one told about Alexander. Most likely the story is merely propaganda by Seleucus, who presumably invented the story to present himself as the natural successor of Alexander.
Given that the symbol certainly looks like an anchor, I'm assuming that this is the reasoning for it.

Thank you good sir, I never heard of this story. And accuracy doesn't really matter because I couldn't even identify what object this symbol supposed to be. I seriously thought it's a bow... or some strange royal thingy.

How's your family tree? How many generals do you have? And how many hired ones?

I can't give you exact number right now but it's quite low. I didn't hired any "allied" generals and I adopted/married into family only three guys I think. Game gives me candidates for adoptions every turn but most of those guys are horrible.

Oh, and by the way, do you have any experience with chariots in EB? because I wondered how useful they are because we can recruit some of those and maybe they would give more... flavour to our armies. I would appreciate any hints about them you could give me (if you have any experience with them, of course).

For religious reasons I'm playing Romani exclusively, so my experience with chariots is limited to throwing pointy shit their way, getting auxiliaries charged by them, and then charging them with proper Roman units.

That's too bad. I thought we could do some world conquering Assyrian style, charging stuff with scythed chariots but I don't know if that would work in EB. I guess we'll stick to poking people for now (but Saba still gonna get stomped by some 'fants).

As long as you exterminate, pillage and burn every city you siege, you are conquering the world 'Assyrian Style'. It's not the Chariot that makes the beloved of Ashur, it's the mindset!

About chariots in EB.... I only have experience with the Casse ones. They're quite strong, but unflexible as hell - as you can imagine, cities, forests, broken ground- everything conspires against you. I don't know if the Hellenistic ones are better- more armour will probably help enduring arrows, but I would not recommend them-. Like artillery, I don't think they are cost-effective.

Update 21 Barbarians at the Gates (The Thin Red Line).

UO0001.jpg

Last update ends with Baktrian attacking our city, since battle itself was not in last update it means I haven't done it at all (this shit's live, yo). I reloaded and only change is that worst phoenicians are trying to extort money from us, we told them to choke on a dick and battle with Baktrians can begin.

UO0002.jpg

UO0003.jpg

They have too many rams so we have to defend at city center.

UO0004.jpg

We put two phalangitai units here, because it seems like most likely way for Baktrians to take.

UO0005.jpg

This unit will defend against army that's behind us, streets are narrow here so one unit can cover it whole. We put one unit in reserve in case of "oh, shit".

UO0006.jpg

Batkrians have mostly mercenaries which is not surprising since their towns are very small and they are not nomads (and can't recruit their elites in shitholes).

UO0007.jpg

Walls are down and we shall se if I put our phalanx in right places.

UO0008.jpg

It seems that I did.

UO0009.jpg

One unit decided to go other way and we will have to keep an eye on them.

UO0012.jpg

Army behind us finally moved.

UO0013.jpg

And pokefest begins.

UO0014.jpg

We have to use our "oh, shit" unit to cut off Baktrians that tries to surround us.

UO0016.jpg

We engaged their main force, it's not very fair engagement though, their Phalangitai are simply much better.

UO0017.jpg

UO0018.jpg

Yeah, our pandotapoi are getting fucked up.

UO0019.jpg

Baktrian general charged, it's over for us.

UO0020.jpg

Goodnight sweet... shit, I forgot what city this is.

UO0022.jpg

UO0023.jpg

We lost city center, it's over.

UO0024.jpg

Well, our other phalangitai are doing splendid job at stopping second Baktrian army but their poking is...

...pointless YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAH!

UO0025.jpg

Fukc you Bacteria, giv bakc our clay or we crush you like skul of pig!

UO0026.jpg

We lost Prophthasia. Sarpedon is already on his way and he won't stop until Baktrian are removed from the premises.

UO0027.jpg

War with Baktria and threats from Carthage means that there will be no Elephant army to send to arabia. We need soldiers to fight wars that are worth fighting.

UO0028.jpg

UO0029.jpg

This city seems to be easier to defend so we may have a chance.

UO0041.jpg

It took a lot of pokes to make Baktrians rout but we did it and Ubermanschen-Alexandria is saved.

UO0042.jpg

Unfortunately we can't retrain our garrison here so it will fall after next Baktrian attack.

UO0044.jpg

And revolting population won't help us defending it at all.

UO0045.jpg

Our Parthian offensive is halted again because Ass-sack is depopulated (which means no reinforcements) and Nisa doesn't even have walls so we can't leave small garrison here and hope they will manage to keep it.

UO0001.jpg

Population in Ubermanschen-Alexandria calmed down but Baktrians besieged it again.

UO0002.jpg

Northern front looks much brighter though, Armenia is at war with Sauromatae and we can attempt to take under-defended Miskheta.

UO0001.jpg

I decided to task son of our Basileus with taking Byzantion. We are at war with Epeirotes anyway so it's not like we are opening new front.

UO0002.jpg

We have waves of unhapiness throught the empire. I will try to move our capital around to calm people down but some of our provinces may declare indepedence.

UO0003.jpg

Byzantion is under siege, taking it will give us some additional shekel and it's still will be possible to defend whole asia minor and byzantion with one army.

UO0004.jpg

Meanwhile we got attacked by Armenians and our army here is without a general becase I told him to go Armavir and stop revolts there.

UO0001.jpg

There is lots of them, they have two beastly generals (and we are led by captain) so we are going to make our stand around this stone hill, pretty much camping on red line.

UO0002.jpg

Like so.

UO0003.jpg

Look at my cheap tactics, ye mighty, and despair.

UO0004.jpg

I think our archers bork, they have shooting animation but no arrows are flying in Aremanian direction. Bastards are just predenting they are shooting!

UO0005.jpg

And Armenians are not pretending at all, they are shooting for real.

UO0006.jpg

Whatever, archers won't kill us all.

UO0007.jpg

UO0008.jpg

Sauromatae conquered Kotais so georgians fight on armenian side.

UO0011.jpg

Royal rapist cavalry charged into thick of it. Fortunately we have another line of phalangitai in reserve, just behind us.

UO0013.jpg

UO0015.jpg

Royal rapists are screwing our formation. I decided to send few mercenary hoplitai to flank armenians.

UO0016.jpg

UO0017.jpg

Stab 'em!

UO0019.jpg

UO0021.jpg

Our right flank routed georgians and none else here have balls to attack us, I decided to advance.

UO0022.jpg

UO0023.jpg

We managed to kill one armenian general (you can see how fucked up our formation there was by the fact that our kleurchoi killed him using sword).

UO0025.jpg

UO0026.jpg

One unit of phalangitai on our right go surrounded but I knew it could happen so we have Thorakitai in reserve.

UO0028.jpg

Meanwhile armenian attack on our left run out of steam so we had a chance to un-fuck our formation.

UO0030.jpg

Our right flank continue it's advance almost unopposed.

UO0031.jpg

We have a chance to encircle large part of Armenian army here.

UO0032.jpg

UO0033.jpg

Armenians, seeing what's happening stopped attacking our left flank and looks like they are retreating.

UO0034.jpg

Yup, they are.

UO0036.jpg

UO0037.jpg

Best thing is, Prodromoi managed to catch routing kinsmen cavalry and kill second armenian general.

UO0039.jpg

UO0040.jpg

UO0042.jpg

ENSLAVE. Now we have to bring our general here from Armavir.

UO0043.jpg

I decided to auto-resolve it because we can't save during enemy turn and I was afraid game might crash and we would have to redo two battles.

UO0044.jpg

And we fucking won. I'm very surprised.

Update 22 Barbarians at the Gates (im osten nichts neues).

UO0001.jpg

Gabai is under siege, we actually can completely lose east to Baktria. That's no end of the world because I prefere Baktria as main power in the east because we can clean the floor with their armies in open field battles (and that's not so true in case of Parthians). Sarpedon is reaching babylonia and I'm developing MIC's around Ekbatana and Susa so he should have steady stream of reinforcements.

UO0002.jpg

Armenians are trying to take back Armavir with this tiny stack, it's not going to work especially since our army is near.

UO0003.jpg

Ok, let's just auto-reslove it because there is no way I can win it myself anyway.

UO0004.jpg

Yup, Ubermanschen-Alexandria is in Baktrian, dirty hands.

UO0005.jpg

Meanwhile foolish Epeirotes attacked our army sieging Byzantion.

UO0008.jpg

Terrain is great and Epeirotes are attacking in two waves. Kalinikos Syriakos got this shit.

UO0011.jpg

Ok, AI decided to not be retarded this time and wait for reinforcements. But that's ok, they are too few anyway.

UO0012.jpg

UO0013.jpg

UO0014.jpg

UO0015.jpg

We have their general surrounded and if he dies, this battle is over.

UO0016.jpg

Kalinikos proved that he is true son of his father and good warrior (For now Sarpedon is heir of Arche Seleukeia but we are going to make Kalinikos heir because we are larping being kingdom and all that stuff).

UO0017.jpg

Epeirotes infantry is in full flight and we just need to chase them down with cav so they won't fall back to byzantion.

UO0018.jpg

UO0019.jpg

UO0020.jpg

UO0021.jpg

Enslave! I would change name of Byzantion to "Kalinikia" but you can't change names of cities in EB because of campaign script running in background.

UO0001.jpg

We finished bulding of our best possible MIC in Antiocheia. We can recruit armoured elephants...

UO0002.jpg

And Hypaspistai. But we can't recruit Thorakitai Agematos Basilikou. I'v done some internet research and those guys are tied to Cataphracts reform. Who thought reform that requires you to lose two armies on fucking purpose was a good idea? You can't imagine my butthurt right now... you just can't. My butthurt is a legion.

Hurting butt aside, I think that recruiting some Hypaspistai makes a lot of sense for use since Seleucus was commander of Alexander's Hypaspistai and all that jazz.

UO0003.jpg

Baktrians retreated from Gabai, that's unexpected but very good turn of events.

UO0004.jpg

Also I decided to change our policy towards Babylon. It was our allied state so far but persian units we can recruit here are complete crap. I decided to fully integrate Babylon to Arche Selekeuia which will take shitton of time but will let us recruit our faction troops here.

UO0005.jpg

Koinon Hellenon proposed a ceasfire...

UO0006.jpg

I made counter proposal. Ceasfire + trade right and I will give them 1000 shekels.

UO0007.jpg

They said they don't se the need to end the war just yet. RTW diplomacy at its best.

UO0008.jpg

Stupid Baktrians brought only one ram, I think we can do this...

UO0009.jpg

This will surely stop them, but we never will be able to remove smell of cheese from this city

UO0010.jpg

UO0012.jpg

UO0013.jpg

I halted Sarpedon's march in Selekeuia to "reform" his army. Now his army is not only made of EXPERIENCE! but also of AWESOME! and soon shall be bathed in tears of our enemies and lamentations of their women.

UO0014.jpg

Baktrians are sieging Hekatompylos... and they have Cataphracts.

UO0015.jpg

Ok, we have to deal with random, annoying armies in armenia because they are random and annoying.

UO0016.jpg

We have some Hypaspistai here... they almost make me forget that we won't have Thorakitai Agematos Basilikou.

UO0037.jpg

Shitton of loses (mostly skirmishers and archers so no fucks will be given) but we killed their general and this army is no longer any threat to us.

UO0038.jpg

I hope they won't come back because we have to kill same random army near Miskheta.

UO0001.jpg

Well, they have only two rams so we might have a chance here.

UO0002.jpg

LOL NOPE.

UO0003.jpg

UO0004.jpg

Sarpedon is on his way and Baktrian bastards will pay dearly for this.

UO0005.jpg

There he is, our hero. The Deliverer and his army of AWESOME!

Once you're rich as Midas, recruit loads of elephants plox.

We are rich as Midas and Crassus put together but our armies are expensive as balls. But I will do that because Sabyn is asking for getting stomped by dem 'fants... and we started our biggest offensive yet* so I hope that Baktria and Pahlava will soon be destroyed.

* We recruited two additional stacks, and it didn't killed our economy because we also build couple mines here and there.

Update 23 Barbarians at the Gates (give_trait "Ivar the Boner" NotImpressedByBaktrianArmyAtAll)

UO0001.jpg

Arverni are destroyed. And description of this event is all kinds of wrong.

UO0002.jpg

Karmana is under siege but I don't think that Bactrians have cataphracts this time.

UO0003.jpg

Worst phoenicians are now allies with both turbanheads and Baktria.

UO0001.jpg

You saw nothing, you hear me? NOTHING.

UO0002.jpg

That's actually not cheating at all, he is really intrigued by them.

UO0003.jpg

Same goes for Hegemonides.

UO0004.jpg

And he actually fought them so he have a right to be intrigued, what's wrong with that?

UO0005.jpg

They don't have cataphracts this time so we have a chance.

UO0006.jpg

And they brought only one ram... you know what it means.

UO0007.jpg

Yup.

UO0008.jpg

Baktrian winged hussars?

UO0009.jpg

And their general have a chick blowing a guy painted on his shield. What a strange people.

UO0010.jpg

UO0011.jpg

Go back to your precious India and bring some cataphracts next time, if you want to conquer our city!

UO0012.jpg

UO0013.jpg

Sarpedon is sieging Hekatompylos hoping to draw attention of Baktrian armies.

UO0014.jpg

Shit, sandniggers are back.

UO0015.jpg

UO0016.jpg

I don't feel like chasing ethiopians with phalanx.

UO0017.jpg

UO0018.jpg

Autoresolving is a great way to gain command stars (and lose men).

UO0019.jpg

Go away, we don't negotiate with terrorists.

UO0020.jpg

Our strategy of drawing Baktrian attention works... but we might have draw a few too many.

UO0021.jpg

We have another army which we shall send to destroy Parthians once and for all (I have a feeling I said that already before... couple of times).

UO0022.jpg

And it's special army because for the first time we have Companion cavalry.

UO0023.jpg

Baktrians catched our bait... let the rape begin!

UO0024.jpg

Oh shit, they are fucked.

UO0025.jpg

Ohohohoho...

UO0027.jpg

UO0028.jpg

With this hill, even divine intervention won't help them so reinforcements should not even bother coming here.

UO0030.jpg

UO0031.jpg

They are coming straight for the center so we can slightly reorganize our left flank.

UO0032.jpg

UO0033.jpg

UO0034.jpg

Main body of their infantry is engaged so we move our cavalry to do some butt-charging.

UO0035.jpg

Reinforcements arrived but I don't think they will be much help for them.

UO0038.jpg

HAMMER AND THE SICKLE TACTIC (I once heard it in let's play of RTW on youtube)

UO0039.jpg

Our cavalry managed to kill enemy general and pretty much rout whole army. I'm shocked by their performance.

UO0041.jpg

First army have enough and now we have to deal with reinforcements.

UO0046.jpg

UO0010.jpg

Reinforcements won't attack us and since I turned off time limit we have to haul our asses to them. We done some hit-and-run attacks killing their archers and skirmishers but now we have to deal with phalangitai and cataphracts (they have one unit).

UO0011.jpg

Baktrian spearmen unit tries to flank us but we will send Hypaspitai to testfully rape them.

UO0013.jpg

UO0014.jpg

UO0015.jpg

Now we have to deal with Cats.

UO0016.jpg

We basically swarmed them with everything we have, and it worked.

UO0017.jpg

UO0020.jpg

UO0021.jpg

Our losses are acceptable and quite a lot of "dead" soldiers got "healed".

UO0022.jpg

We have to enslave Hekatompylos because population is raging.

UO0023.jpg

Even after mass-slaughter and lowering the taxes they are still butthurt. They should not rebell at 70% happines though... I think.
