I'm in agreement with Random Word - I am totally surprised that you are siding with the fucking space gypsies over the robo-bros.

Total :decline:. I thought Shepard was a hard-ass, cybernegro EXTREME bro, not some weak dude who is pussy-whipped by the missus. Shep has to put his foot down on this one. First it's "Save my homeworld!", next it's going to be "you never take me out anymore!"

    More Machine Propaganda

[IMG] You process our memories by using your own. How many creators have you witnessed unmasked?
    [IMG] Well... one.
[IMG] Then your perception of that creator does not map to our historical data.

Likely story. You were just making this up as we go along, aren't you?

[IMG] This data cluster contains information time-stamped 290 years ago.

Obviously this synthetic is dysfunctional. It doesn't do what its creator wants.

[IMG] You may proceed to the last data-cluster.

Thank you for giving me footage of quarians performing these evil deeds, Legion. I'm sure your people can't do any better.

    [IMG] Accessing data-cluster.

More quarian marines appear and point their rifles.

    Qurian Marines: Open Fire!

The unarmed geths were unable to resist and were gunned down.

I do that in Eden Prime and basically throughout the entire Sovereign campaign. What makes this so different? The image changes to sole geth standing tall, a rifle placed near it. It bends over to pick it up.

[IMG] The platform arming itself was an agricultural unit. By opening fire on attacking creators, it saved simpler domestic geth following it.
[IMG] That looks a lot like the sniper rifle you used to carry.
[IMG] It is... an efficient model. Estabishing connection with the remaining server node.

    Meanwhile in the real world...

[IMG] Have you come under attack, Admiral Raan?
[IMG] Half of their fighters have stopped functioning. We will continue to hold out as long as we can.

Obviously an extremist would give a fuck about how a machine would feel and say sorry to his gun when he used it to pistol whip his opponents.

This game is all about being emotionally engaged and you're far more emotionally engaged with the geth than with the quarians.
Therefore the only logical choice is to side with the geth for maximum emotional engagement.

    Meanwhile, back in the Consensus...

[IMG] Legion, give me an update.
[IMG] One node remains. We are currently...
    [IMG] What's wrong?
[IMG] Infection programs are increasing. We have restabilized. You must continue.

We faced obstacles that the hack-gun cannot break through. The Reaper code seems to be...

[IMG] Shepard-Commander, The Reaper code has adapted: It can now self-replicate.
[IMG] You mean it grows back?

Yea, all we had to do is trace the weak point back and disrupt TWO instead of one point to permanently break it down.

    Yawn.

    [IMG] Accessing data.

    HALP. CREATOR BRUTALITY!

Quarian Civilian: You can't do this to them!
Quarian Officer: Step away from the geth.

A rifle butt to her gut, and hoopy's out.

No one's saving snookums, her favorite geth sex bot.

    Poor, poor hoopy...

[IMG] Looks like the war wasn't popular with everyone.
[IMG] We have kept records of these creators' sacrifices. They have largely been forgotten by their own people. But not by the geth.

Thanks, Legion. For remembering a bunch of people who were nice to you. I'm totally touched. Let's break some more Reaper codes.

[IMG] This data comes from the period during which creators declared martial law.

It's because you fuckers refused to comply to a shut-down order.

Quarian Protestor: It doesn't matter to them. I need to get you out of here.
Geth: This conflict exceeds creator safety parameters. We will surrender our hardware if it ends hostilities.
Quarian Protestor: No, it's all right. We'll go back to the access tunnels and-

    An explosion interrupted the two.

    Only the geth survived.

Geth: Creator Megara! What is your status?

    You poor, poor toaster.

[IMG] As time passed, the creators who opposed martial law on Rannoch were ultimately outnumbered.

We continue on...towards the Final Data.

We've done all we could. It's time to finish Rannoch.

I still insist that Legion and the Geth are much better than Pedo-creepy-loli-xenos/Tali's romance plus the rest of the space gypsies.

The space gypsies are retards because they should have at least tried to establish a colony. I mean fuck after 300 years all the glorious tech powered by Mass Effect(tm) technology should let them fully terraform and plant a half decent compatible ecosystem on some half-decent rock. And their shitty immune systems would adapt to it by now anyway. But no, lets derp around is SPESS. Bloody suitfags.

Indeed. The quarians are idiots and arguably evil(not to mention that they have a tendancy to open fire upon Shepard). Geth are total bros, ever since their inception.

In this thread, RK47 is butthurt about the concept of advanced synthetic life being equal to organic life. Wanting to protect his precious waifu, I guess. Major :decline:

So how does all this play out if you sold Legion to Cerberus, I wonder?

Mostly Exactly the same, except some lines about trusting Shepard missing, and no extra footage of Shepard and Legion in virtual reality.

    Maybe there is more later.

To be honset the whole Geth propaganda sounded lame to me. It was a hamifisted approach by Bioware trying to humanize this faction at all cost. They are nothing like sentient hivemind they are described to be. Even in those scenes from before the exile, you get the feeling they are (oh, so misunderstood) individuals, which makes the whole deal about giving them intelligence retarded.

It's as if Bioware could not decide if Geth are indeed the hivemind thing they were said to be, an realising they are completely clueless as to how depict such alien race they decided to half-retcon them.

It's also fun to see how Tali death in ME2 doesn't change anything at this point, except that you don't have to bear with her accent during missions.
IIRC she's not even mentioned by other Quarians.

Exactly. And it is about to get worse.

    Show Spoiler
Reaper magic makes them "true AIs" AKA individuals. A hive mind of interdependent programs on local platforms and servers is a million times more interesting, but I guess the ME writers couldn't handle so much awesome.

And even before that Legion had so many times he was basically just hiding that he was having human emotions.

I still sided with the geth, though. If you cannot into artificial life, you are not ready for hard sci-fi :smug: .

Yeah, if geth really wanted peace with Quarians all along, why did they occupied the only planet they can live on (due to herp-derp immune system)? They could just moved their servers elsewhere, but no, they wanted take a bloody revenge on the entire race that created them. And really, if they wanted cooperation with other organic races, NOT KILLING EVERYONE WHO ENTER THEIR SYSTEM would be fucking good start (ME1 lore). So they've been basically killing all organics on sight since they got their sentience, they actively participated in a plot to wipe all advanced organic life from the galaxy and now they're suddenly making a heel-face turn? Yeah, right. Jamal was right, throw the lying desk light out of the airlock and wipe the rest of them from the galaxy.

And btw that geth matrix looks really shitty. Cube-shaped mishmash of random textures - it brings back the memories of early Tomb Raiders :)

Siding with the gypsies is worse. It's giving a fuck about the feelings of an even more emotional and less reliable gun while pistolwhipping. Your emotional engagement is preventing you from realizing the fact that the gypsies being organic doesn't make them any less of a tool.

Who gives a shit who's right and who's wrong? Anyone who sides with either race because they're 'right' or 'deserve to live' is looking at this from a stupidly emotional perspective. Javik pretends he understands that everyone and everything is just a tool at this point, but he gets all emotional and pisses himself in kneejerk fear and hatred of robots. They're no better and no worse.

Sure, the toasters are a threat, but so is every alien race, including the space gypsies with their massive fleet (since they ignored all the treaties the other races followed). Whether or not they're synthetic does nothing to change this. The right choice for humanity is to kill them all at some point, not stick your dick in them, organic or not. Perhaps leave some aliens alive, to provide a semi-credible reason to keep humanity united through a common enemy, but that's to worry about later.

What matters right away is the current war. Possible allies:
Toasters: Have a large, strong fleet, soldiers that need no food, medicine, or rest, and nothing to distract them from focusing entirely on the fight against the Reapers. Synthetics don't evoke much sympathy, so it shouldn't be hard to convince people to exterminate them after you're done w/ the reapers.

Gypsies: Have a large fleet, but soldiers that need supplies and rest. Many will be hesitant to go fight for some other planet when they've just taken back the homeworld they've all wanted to live on for the last few centuries. Lots will settle there right away, leaving many of the ships undercrewed. Their overemotional idiocy (as demonstrated by just about everything they do) will no doubt lead to further problems. Because you can stick your dick in them, it will be harder to convince people to exterminate them when you next get an opportunity.

A truly EXTREME Shepard wouldn't pick a worse gun just because it can cry and spread its legs. You have to consider the long term when choosing the order of your genocides.

In another forum, an ex-writer for Bioware was asked:
"Why did the Quarians never settle on another planet? There are billions of stars in the galaxy, there has to be another planet that's close enough to Rannoch."

When pressed to explain if he's serious about using Jews as inspiration for Quarians he further explained:

    Keelah se'lai, bitches.
