So, in two weeks or so (current release date is 17 march but that may slide), I'll be releasing my second game into EA:

The trailer is more about setting the mood than describing the gameplay, tbh, because that thing is difficult to show promptly. Probably demands a separate mini-vid. Anyhow, the point is that, first and foremost, it's turn-based tactics. You have missions with clearly-defined objectives - capture the points, sabotage the buildings, scout the map, etc. Each planet has six to eight missions available, you need to clear four to proceed. Missions might vary in terms of rewards, opposition and modifiers.

At your disposal there's always a bunch of mighty Cosmo Commandos®. Some are grunts (basic commandos & supreme gentlemen), some are leaders - commander, chaplain, librarian, King's Impersonator. You assemble a proper team out of them, the one that's best suited for the current task. You go towards the battlefield and fight. The combat itself has a match-3 element - enemies are colored into different legions and killing a foe might 'cause a chain reaction to occur. However, you don't get to move the pieces or anything like that - all match-3 stuff gets achieved by combat actions, your commandos just shoot, move, use special abilities, and in the process match-3 happens. It's basically just another kind of move here, like backstabbing, kiting or I dunno.

Map if filled with landscape and it's more or less interactive - some things are impassable, some things will give you cover, shrines might even boost your morale, forests will burn, etc. Direction also means a lot - you don't want to get hit in the back 'cause backstab hurts like hell. Your units have stats that depend on their gear. Depending on their weaponry, they'll have from 6 to 12 active abilities each. So you have a depth of tactical choice. Combat is less about killing - enemies are endless to simulate the fact that Cosmo Commandos easily fight under the odds of 1000 to 1. And is more about foiling/distracting the foe and just achieving your mission. Mission always comes first.

We also have very original setting and characters, btw. Very, very original. Plz do not steal.

I've gone through many steps to assure that everything that we have does not actually infringe on their copyright and falls under parody umbrella. Well, we'll see.

This is... Something indeed. I wonder if it will have mod support, and what kind of mods will it have.

icons on buttons shouldn't be lore related but reflect more the actuall effect on the board. either that or you give them names like in puzzle quest but this would require a whole new interface. i'm trying to play, not guess what does what, that's something we left to the '80s.

Are you... actively fishing for a C&D by Games Workshop? Because you know it's inevitable, right.
They can't stop him, this is so blatantly parodic that it's undeniably protected. And looks pornographic. That's definitely protected, too. If Lucas and all his money and lawyers couldn't stop them from pornifying Star Wars, GeeDubs can't stop this guy. If they even tried, they'd get slam-dunked fast.

i get homoerotic vibes from this game.

That's, like, your personal issues, dude. I've watched through the trailer once more and we're overloaded on female goodness and female only. I guess there are supreme gentlemen but they're more about being euphoric stalkers than anything else. They can even take candid cameras to the battlefield and make shots of allied females.

Don't worry, though - I already have a special DLC planned for your kind of audience. It's gonna feature Gay Knights - a special cosmo commando assembly, clad in ranbow colors. In all 100 000 years of fighting, not a single Gay Knight has fallen to the lure of the tit.

Mods will probably be difficult because we're using Unity. Well, I'm no coder so I dunno. I recall them being very difficult to do, I'll discuss if that has changed with my mates. Obviously, we're not against mods so we'll try to support them.

The Emperor.... protects?

The King, we're having the Kingdom here. The faith is less ruler-centric, though - instead it's all about female ass (with some heretical branches prioritizing surrounding features).

And that's what they do. Let's take 0:28. Chem Soaker Commando. First two actions are rotate actions. Third is movement. Fourth is dash. Fifth is smoke grenade. Sixth is toxic spit, gradually poisoning the foe and turning him green. Seventh is concrete shot, making its victim exchange speed for armor. Eighth is Napalm Shot that coats its victim in guess what. Ninth is big smoke cloud. All are appropriately themed.

See, this is what I'm talking about with games where fan service is not a cringeworthy addition, but a central part of the game's identity
And WH40k is the perfect parody material as even the source material can't be taken serious to begin with.

Exquisite and hilarious. You've managed to actually turn a joke plot point into lore.

Well, I've read all the codexes from 3-5th edition so I know my lore, more or less. And I love paying attention to details - I already have pretty much an entire franchise schemed, with all the races in their places, etc. Not sure how much of the other races will be featured in this one (as I want to keep it Kingdom vs Order themed), but we're giving slight hints through the cosmo commando commander's equipment - they tend to be sporting nothing but trophies. Here, for example, is such a commander, sporting a holy crossbolter and wearing phasey grabber, hareeequin's mane, pack of the lady president and paws of the purrant:

Ugh, typical Russian devs, announcing broken OP paid DLC before the game has even been released!

NERD! Well, you know way more about this than I do. My only actual contact with 40K is through memes. I have never played the game or owned any material associated with the game, not even the vidya game adaptations.

Nice music

Yeah, we're working with a real nice composer. She's the same person that helped me with the "Undertail: Tight Tunnels" joke, btw. A very codexian person, tbh, no idea why she's not hanging around here. Well, maybe she does but, you know, alts.

So.... what about romance options?

Not with the Early Access chapters. Let's see. Each cosmo commando assembly has its own unique female unit.

Atomic Dukes (lead by the noble, well, they're all noble so, lead by the noblest Duke Fukem) are accompanied by droves of Fallen Angels. There's an assembly of female nun-warriors called Angels of Victory that support the King's army with their grace and when an Angel goes bad, she's forced to relocate into ranks of fallen angels. Theoretically, she's searching for redemption there but, well, they're rarely finding it or so it seems. And they really, really prefer Atomic Dukes as a company because, I dunno. Each assembly has its unique equpment and Duke's belt section can be occupied by an Expanded Codpiece. Maybe there's a connection. So that's the kind of romancing that goes there.

White Knights (lead by the pious Alamar Lyons) are worshipping female ass as a sacred object. They live solely to protect female ass and to support it fully. So any kind of indecent actions towards it is a big case of "how dare you" on their part. They're accompanied by the proper Angels of Victory and they're nuns so yeah.
