Oh silly me! What was I thinking? What could go wrong with god diplomacy? It's not like gods are powerful and completely alien. If we are lucky we might even get 3000 years long vacation on top of everything.

Aren't you happy that we have a new scapegoat now, Azira?

I wasn't the one who suggested invoking celestial aid. :rpgcodex:

treave is disappointed with our lack of progress and wants to start Cthulhu LP ASAP.

Running to celestials for help once the going gets tough does not strike me as the best of ideas.

I ain't voting to do it cause this story will totally go batshit crazy after that. I mean up till now we had a consistent setting of China, pugilist sects, court intrigues and conspiracies. And now you want the gods figure into this ? This will become a total clusterfuck.

Next update we'll be introduced to aliens I bet. And some time travelers with volcano guns. The Terminator, sent from the future by the gods, to kill Shun in order to stop his reign where he would send us to kill them, after he ascends to godhood himself.

A mortal cursed by Heaven beseeching it for aid? Madness. We've had a lot of stupid ideas, but this is the dumbest. Don't fucking do it.

My bad. You're right, it's entirely Baltika's fault.

There is a surprising number of wuxia/Chinese period shows with time traveling as a premise.

Does it involve a celestial harem, by any chance? :troll:

This seems like a staggeringly bad idea. We're pulling a huge con and lying about a corrupt Emperor getting into heaven and becoming an Immortal, I don't think we want to specifically invoke heaven's notice about us doing this.

Ideally we should be doing this without involving the supernatural at all.

    Voting for Don't.

And the Terminator would be Zhang Jue, already now in the past. Only that he no longer remembers his mission to kill Shun, because time traveling wasn't perfect when he was sent and he lost his memories. And he ends up tutoring the very one, future Slayer of Gods, Xu Jing, Shun's future right hand man.

Is this how you want it to be ?

Don't do it bros, we're gonna transform this whole LP into a parody.

The "modern lady falls in love with a Qing Prince" ones seem to be in vogue lately. But no, I don't even need to go that far to break the setting, if I really wanted to. All I need is just a cohort of celestial soldiers descending on a cloud led by a wise immortal who gives you a super magic gourd that can suck up stuff. Then again, I can also have gods appear without breaking the setting.

    No. Never. Definitely not.

Treave said that this wasn't a problem because we won't pull off the con if we get divine aid.
This is probably going to creep into the setting at some point, we might as well start it while they're more favorably disposed rather than piss them off and find out later.

treave have also said that if we are worried for Shun, we shouldn't be. They won't harm him. That leaves us. He never said a word about us, except that we won't get killed. But death is not the only thing that can screw a character.

I'll be upfront about this: the supernatural and the divine will never be a major part that takes over the main narrative, regardless of what happens here. It'll mostly be sidequest material and background details. For example, that toad demon essence isn't going to turn into a driving force for many decisions like Ean's hunger did in Epic.

Well, I said you don't have to worry about Lei Gong frying you or being capricious in his behaviour.

That does not sound particularly encouraging. There are infinite ways to get screwed by higher powers.

Divine intervention is not to be underestimated. They could do nasty things like remove your soul from your body and shove it into someone else for a laugh, for example.

We don't need divine intervention. This is our, mortal, business.

Since when we started praying to get shit done by gods instead of doing it ourselves?

Must not mention Bai Jiutian. Must not mention Bai Jiutian. Must not mention Bai Jiutian.

    And then there were flops.

Since we went with a retarded option to kidnap the emperor that will not have a chance at turning out well since on top of that we've apparently decided to come up with our own plan?
