So you are, essentially, taking an already hard option and are going about it in a completely retarded way just so that you could say 'told you guys' later?

That's a terrible argument. "If you go retard, might as well go full-retard!" isn't something that lends itself well to decision-making. This is a horrible idea and we can't just pick it out of personal spite and butthurt. We're at the nice sweet-spot of "half-retard" now, where we might still win an Oscar. Never go full-retard. Don't fucking do it.

Surely we can think up something more clever? treave, I'm confused as to the setup here - I know that we'll be forming our own plan, but will there be an update before we do so, or will we have to form one now? I was under the impression that we would first get Xiahou Yu, Shun and ourselves together for a DISCUSS!!! beforehand.

If the prayer works, we don't have to set the plot in motion, which is good because we'll not come up with anything decent. If it doesn't work, treave has said that they're not going to be capricious and fry us. What is retarded about at least giving it a try when it could end up putting Shun most solidly on his throne out of anything and keep the emperor safe?

I never said anything about wanting to go full retard. If we can avoid doing something stupid with a little extra effort then we should go for it.

DISCUSS!?! You guys are the DISCUSS!!!

Whatever you come up with as a plan will be treated as the results of that discussion, and I'll provide any necessary and relevant information that should be known between the trio of Xu Jing, Li Shun and Xiahou Yu where applicable, or when requested. You will have to form one if 3 wins, if not then I'll get cracking on something since it appears to be between 1 and 3. I'll close those votes in about 10 hours or so, then if 3 has won it'll be full-on brainstorming time.

Of course, there's no harm in throwing out ideas now, I might incorporate stuff I like even if 1 wins.

    Brain-storm? How about brain-disaster-area? :M

Sorry. Bad form. Of course we can do this, if we manage to keep it together. It's just... Well... The codex, it's like herding cats. And we just know some are here just to spite and ruin it for others.

Dammit treave, why must you keep teasing a female BJesqe situation to us! :x
Don't call it it spite and ruination. It's more like finding the most entertaining and least productive way of doing things.

Alright, so what specifically are the problems we need to overcome with this plan? It might help direct brainstorming.

    What plan is this?

    I'm completely lost here.
I remember vaguely suggesting something to do with ghosts, and then this god worship happened.

    Operation Immortal in general.

But then ghosts and gods happened, yes.

I imagine "how do we get the emperor out of the palace" will be an issue, as will "how do we get him safely to Maniac Island". Any specific obstacles here?

    The main goals:
    1. Make the Emperor disappear from the palace.
    2. Make it so it couldn't be explained away with just kidnapping.

Everything else is optional. The first part may be the easiest of the two. As for the second one, we wanted to make a show out of it - if people see the Emperor disappearing into thin air, and the rumors get out, that would shut a lot of people up.

Can spider silk be coloured? If so, can we employ Tulu Huodu or somebody especially skilled at it to create a realistic-looking silk facsimile of the emperor, which can then slowly disintegrate into nothingness in front of his entire court? Maybe even make him emerge out of a cocoon as a fully-grown immortal?

You could, but there is no way you are getting just silk to look like the real thing. Perhaps if you had a very talented sculptor and some wax, but it only takes some investigation for them to realize it was just a statue, so you'll have to figure out how to get rid of the evidence once the replica disintegrates.

Is Xiahou Yu a talented enough artist to do such a thing? He seemed to be a hell of a painter, at least.

Possibly. But he's never seen the Emperor in real life before, and Chinese art tends to go for impression rather than realism. You'll have to sneak him into the Emperor's chambers to work on the replica. It might still work as long as you keep the gawkers a fair distance away from the false Emperor. Get close enough and it will not last any form of scrutiny at all.

    Guise, TERRACOTTA EMPRAH.

This is kinda weak, but consider-
If for some reason, the emperor were turned to Terracotta(Like because he ascended to heaven leaving his mortal shell to return someday), even with a badly done terracotta replica, no one would be allowed to come close to the emperor in case they damage his mortal shell, the vessel to which he shall return. It then falls to Shun to transport the Shell somewhere safe, and act as king in his Father's name.

I'll see if I can think of some feasible plan of execution, or a better plan.

But there are very talented immortals among heaven's servants, like Lady Ji for example. All we need to do is ask.

But seriously bros, I don't get where this "OMG WE'LL GET FUCKED HORRIBLY WITHOUT GETTING MEANINGFUL HELP!" coming from. We're not the Dog Adjutant with a LCK of 0 who was a former immortal cursed to a life of misfortune for his misdeeds. I don't think that we'll get screwed over all that horribly, the Court has a solid reason to get involved, their Mandate has been tarnished by Taisheng, they are a detached bunch that is too busy with their own affairs most of the time to pay attention to mortals, and mortal men turning their attention to earthly troubles is a very common theme in Chinese myths. Their help will make this a definite success, even with just one agent (like Lady Ji). Capricious they may be, but they always valued competent agents and weren't in the habit of breaking their deals too much.

The worst that can happen is Jing being gender-flipped, which isn't so bad since he's already bi-curious, or troll us with a ,"Well, you fixed the Empire, now you take care of it. Hope you like the throne, Emperor Jing. See you in about sixty years, lololo."

You guys who voted C were all about how even if it were unlikely that it would work and the dangers were great, it would provide the best resolution and so there was no choice but to go for it. Tell me, what changed so suddenly to make contacting the gods so unpalatable to that block? If it works, Shun has the Mandate indisputably without needing to lift a hand against his father. If it doesn't, then we can still move on to your plot.
