Actually, treave confirmed that saber skills make Minamoto Kenjutsu techniques even more effective, so it's a perfect fit for Kenjutsu that will additionaly let us use our Wodao as both a sword and saber. Slick fucki g technique, and with AGI 11, we will be fast enough to close distances so throwing isn't exactly paramount for us.
Still, a solid package.

 

Now, normally I would do that, but people aren't voting for that option anyway, so why bother compromising that? I had that exact vote line-up earlier and it got no support. If someone wants to vote for that, they can go ahead and make a packet and I'll make it a secondary vote, but I'm not butchering my vote to put it through Baltika9's modular system.

Here's my package for 24 months

3. Intensive basic saber training. (Saber +4, 1 month)

13. Intensive sword training with Zhang Jue (Sword +1, 2 months)

14. Intensive hand-to-hand combat sessions with Zhang Jue. (Unarmed +1, 6 months)
The reason I'm opting for unarmed is that once you are at master level, creating or picking up techniques should come a lot more easily.

15. Learn the rare Minamoto-style Kenjutsu focusing on quick draws and flowing attacks from Yorimitsu. (+1 Sword, 3 months)

21. Attempt to learn a random new technique of Zhang Jue’s choosing, that he created from his travels in Nippon. (2 months)

22. Further improve your mastery of Reikan by training with Yoriwaka. (+1 Reikan PER, 1 month)

25. Undergo strenuous neigong training to unlock your potential (Neigong +2, 6 months, Yuanshi Hundun now gives +2 to STR, AGI and END) I think taking endurance matters little if you don't have to misuse your qi by constraining it. Neigong control means you won't damage yourself as much when you learn more of it, and the +2 will give you a neigong skill of 7 The more you master your neigong, the more you have control over your neigong. When you increase your neigong mastery, obviously your control over it is better and you don't need to force out the power, it will come naturally

26. Learn how to absorb qi from other people at a faster rate by ‘practicing’ with Qilin and Cao’er. (3 months)

 

It's sad that the leading packet and module choice doesn't even max out our training time here, I will say.

If this is going to run this absurdly unopposed, I'll flop to hear out one of the more martial modules as a secondary thing. Though why we should have to choose between greater unarmed combat and being able to train neigong when they complement each other so well is beyond me.

What's going on now? I'm 12 pages behind in the discuss and new pages are coming faster than I can read. If someone could post a little summary of the discuss I would appreciate it.

 

We went back and forth about times, then we kinda agreed that we would spend around 18-24 months training. treave made it official, and now we are compiling and voting for packets.

There was some arguing about choosing strength over endurance, Yuhue Finger or silk, unarmored over swords, or other general problems, but you didn't really miss much of note.

 

Summary of DISCUSS: the 18-24 moth bracket won. As of about 4 pages ago (module masterlist is in one of them), we are now voting for the actual packages. Let the butthurt flow.

For twelve pages. We've compromised on a 24 month limit in training as of Page 573, now we're just discussing which particular skills and abilities we'll learn within that period of time. There are a whole bunch of potential packages available.

 

I figure that whatever +1 stat boosts we can get aren't going to matter much in the long term because we have a 15 cap for neigong and that means our neigong WILL end up being stronger than everyone else's, which will also give us more stat boosts.

 

I just really really don't want Jing to get wrecked again. I don't like having to avoid a fight due to injuries.
